Food was terrific, as you can tell from the photos – we demolished everything and forgot to take photos. The fried green beans and the Strawberry Mandarin Salad was 12/10. No notes.
Will definitely stop in next time I’m in Hays!
First was the 30 to 45 min wait, when sat down we were separated into two sections instead of the large table that was available in front of the piano stage.
The waitress seemed genuinely nice at first then as the drink order was given the demeanor seemed to change a bit.
I personally had the cream cheese burger which i will admit was very good.
Then the sampler came out. The meat was literally raw, I informed the waitress about my concern then the response was ” Well I didn’t cook it.”
Then she said that she would tell the cooks. What I thought was raw pork at first ended up being raw chicken!
Had to literally ask for the manager because apparently the waitress didn’t think it was a big enough concern to have her come to the table,
After requesting for the manager or the person in charge she then came out to speak with us. Though she was profesional and polite and very eager to make it right. I was informed that it was starting to be more and more common. So with that I will be calling the Ellis county health department . I don’t want someone to get food poisoning. Hioefully I don’t get sick , but if I do, then I will have to go another route. It’s a little disheartening and unfortunate but if the cook won’t adhere to proper food handling protocols then something needs to be said.
Yes , there is a recording of the incident and the admitting of it not being the first time that the kitchen had done this.
The roasted corn dip n chips appetizer had good flavor but had the consistency of peanut butter NOT of a dip…they really need to make an adjustment here.
The tequila lime dipping sauce had a sharp bite..it was like someone poured the juice of the jarred jalapeños into it…not pleasant at all…they need to get an expert to provide suggestions to correct and improve this asap.
Several dirty tables and loud children running around and screaming…somewhat annoying after so long.
Bathrooms were dirty…
The whole restaurant could use a good chlorophyll wipe down and cleaning
Steak was cooked correctly but lacked seasoning and taste.
The service was incredible, they were energetic, friendly, and the overall atmosphere feels genuine and very creative!
Food was phenomenal, we got pig tails, chicken, and the Mac n Cheese. The prices are great and the food was even better.
I almost wanna drive back (300+ miles) just to try the rest of the menu
– Also, shout out to our server, Karly! (Hope I spelt that right) 🙂
