Come along on a journey with me. Stepping beyond the door is akin to being transported to a different time and place, insulated from the clamor of the world. Whispering the password through the keyhole window is like uttering a spell that unlatches the lock to reveal a portal to another time. Once inside, the first sip of your beverage – crafted with skillful alchemy – will melt away the static of ordinary life.

That is The Thirsty Cobbler to me, and it is an experience unlike any other in Ocala. Your hosts are top notch and endeavor to ensure your time at The Thirsty Cobbler is enjoyable.

Pro tip: Ignore reviews older than 4 months from Feb 2026, they don’t hold water with current staff. If you wrote a review longer than 4 months ago – give it another go!

You Can order off the menu. Even beer. 😉

Checked out Thirsty Cobbler for drinks and it’s a really nice little bar to slow down for a bit. The vibe is cozy and a little “hidden gem” feeling, with low lighting and a relaxed crowd—good for talking without screaming over music. Cocktails were the highlight: balanced, not overly sweet, and they looked great too. Service was friendly, but when a few groups came in at once it took a bit longer to get the next round. Still, I’d go back for a chill night and a couple well-made drinks.

Delightful Speakeasy with a wonderful prohibition vibe. The Gin-ja who runs the joint is feisty, articulate and has wit. The mad scientist mixologist is reserved yet friendly. I just wish he didn’t free pour. They make some pretty good drinks but they’re missing about seven liquors and mixers to be a true craft cocktail bar. Nevertheless the charm factor alone is worth it. But if they lost Gin-ja it wouldn’t be the same. -VanPort Insider

What a fun and exciting little speakeasy! The ambience really made you feel like you were back in the prohibition era during the 1920s. You’ll need a password to enter, and if you don’t have the correct one, you’ll definitely be turned away. Overall the prices are great; the drinks are superb, so do yourself a favor and have this experience.

Great and relaxing atmosphere to share cocktails with my hubby. We could actually hear each other vs. going to a loud bar. We will be back again. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE PASSWORD for the NIGHT you are attending, or you will not be let in. Sshhh.

Very cool relaxedvibe and decor. Super comfortable chairs and couches. Awesome Old Fashioned. Unfortunately service was slow. Don’t know if that is part of the vibe though. Wasn’t super busy, server was very cool, just took forever for the drinks (10 minutes) maybe the bartender was slammed mote than I could see. I’d give back, but will keep that in mind in case it’s the norm.

We were walking by and I did a double take… wait is that a speakeasy?! In Ocala??! Others in our group were like nahhh let’s keep walking, but with a quick search and a look on social media to my surprise it is in fact a speakeasy! Make sure you know the password. Great vibe and unique drink options. I got the cats meow and was afraid of the lavender, but to my surprise it wasn’t overpowering and was delicious. Highly recommend checking it out!

This place is unique for the area with a great atmosphere. A password is required for entry as is a speak easy attitude in other words, those who are loud or rowdy are not welcome. Jason and Billy always take good care of us and the drinks are delicious with a such a variety that it is hard to choose what to have first. This is our new favorite place…shhhh.

Speakeasy open Thursday through Saturday. Password on Facebook. Good drinks. Excellent atmosphere. Nice place for a craft cocktail and conversation – they keep the volume moderate to low so it’s easy to converse.

Came here the other day and Alex wasn’t working apparently he doesn’t work there anymore. He was the only reason I came to the speakeasy. He gave great service and he accommodated to his customers in an amazing way that no other server or bartender could please bring him back. We miss Alex.
