Incredible food. We got the biscuits as an appetizer. I ordered a cheeseburger and he had the chicken fried steak. Both excellent quality. He said it was the best chicken fried steak he’s ever had. Dessert selections were presented on a tray. The key lime pie and the s’mores pie were both top tier. Absolutely no room for improvement. We’ll be back again for sure.

I recently visited Third Street Social and overall had a really good experience with the food.
The wings were cooked perfectly — crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The flavor was definitely there, but they were a little too hot for my personal preference. If you like strong heat, you’ll probably love them. I just prefer something a little milder.
The eggs were also good and cooked just right. They had a nice texture, not overcooked or runny. I just felt like they could’ve used a little more seasoning to really make the flavor pop. A small tweak there would take them to the next level.
The biscuit was solid — soft, fluffy, and fresh. It complemented everything on the plate really well.
Now the catfish… that was the highlight for me. Cooked to perfection. Crispy outside, tender and flaky inside, not greasy at all. You can tell it was prepared with care. Absolutely done right.
Overall, all the food was good and well-prepared. Just a couple small seasoning and heat adjustments (for my taste), but nothing major. I would definitely come back and try more items on the menu.

Very quick to get in even on what appeared a busier evening. Waitresss was prompt friendly and attentive. Collard greens are a must to order. Chicken fried steak was very good and seasoned great. Desert apple pie was pretty dry but still good. Pretty loud inside due to layout.

I’ve been to this location and have loved every time the food, service, and atmosphere until last night. Last night we were waited on by an older woman named Shelly I believe and it was horrible.
It took her 25-30 minutes to get out drinks out, 45-50 minutes to take our order and then when it came time to get our food the HORRIBLE service started. When our food was being brought I asked the gentleman dropping it off to take an empty beer glass for me, he said “I’m not able to, I’ll tell your waitress you want it gone”, then about 5 minutes later she is right behind me and the guy comes back and says this gentleman asked for us to take the glass out of his way. She then tells me “ you can just CHILL” we’ll get that later. She then let the water pitcher become empty and never get filled until we were done eating(15-20 minutes) then when it came to getting the check she took 20+ minutes to get the receipts back to us and she then made us wait another 10-15 minutes before she gave the change (cash) back to one of the guys at our table.
Overall, it took 2.25 hours to get in and out and we were all in agreement the service took way too long, she was unprofessional (cussing, over explaining menu options when we didn’t ask, taking her sweet time, not refiling drinks, etc…) I would definitely recommend if she is your waitress you asked to be moved.

I commonly suggest this place to anyone who asks for a great place to eat in the northland or in lees summit, but this waitress should be AVOIDED! I was planning to tip her zero dollars after being told to Chill twice, the cup literally was the ONLY glass and dish she/ someone else didn’t grab off the table as the meal went on and her being snippy to multiple people at the table. But they added gratuity, so unfortunately I wasn’t able to give her the tip she deserved.

This place was very cute and well set up. The staff was so accommodating to our party. Aspen was our server and he never left a drink empty and was always checking on us! The food and drinks were absolutely incredible!! It’s a bit pricey but Happy Hour has great deals!

While our service was extremely good, despite being a very busy time, there are no sound buffers, so the noise level can get loud, making conversation at the table challenging.
The Louis XVII cocktail is tasty.
The Deviled Eggs were very good, and the touch of crispy bacon complemented the light mustard flavor.
Soup of the Day was Chicken Tortilla, and unlike too many other restaurants, spice was not overwhelming. It was also loaded with chicken, another rarity among restaurants.
The Chopped Salad was big enough to be entree, but $9 to add chicken feels like a too-high price point.
The Wedge is a unique take on a standard. The Green Goddess dressing was delicious. It is not big enough to be a meal in and of itself, but with another side, it was fine.
The Pork Belly Burnt Ends was delicious though the Cauliflower send to have been pickled with jalapeno and the flavors don’t seem to mesh well .
The Collard Greens might just be the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant, better even than some home cooks. Thank goodness they were not overloaded with vinegar as so many restaurants do.
We’d never heard of a chicken lasagna, but it was very good, though it ran a bit on the salty side.

Decided to try this place out on a whim this past Sunday. We arrived around 1pm without reservations and were sat immediately. My friend ordered the Truman old-fashioned while we looked at the menu. We then ordered the housemade donuts and korean steak tacos to start. The appetizers arrived before her first drink arrived. The restaurant did not appear to be very busy, so this was kind of surprising. The donuts were fresh and hot, so good with the raspberry sauce. The korean steak tacos were stuffed and had great umami flavors. However, a few bites included gristle, and for $17, I wouldn’t expect that. My friend ordered the chicken fried steak with eggs off the brunch menu. It was delicious!! Flavorful and tender, i would go back just to order that. I went with the braised duroc pork shoulder with collard greens and cheesy grits. The collard greens were packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The cheesy grits were good, but kind of clumpy. The pork had wonderful flavors and was covered in a rich sauce, but it was almost too dry to eat. Thank goodness for the sauce, which saved me from sending it back. I added a side of the gouda mac & cheese, and it was so creamy and rich. Plus, the portion was so big that I was able to have it with 3 meals. We opted out of dessert, but I did order a non alcoholic cocktail. I can’t remember the name, but it tasted like a pineapple orange julius. It was a nice light ending to a good meal. I have to give a shout out to our server, I believe his name was Aaron. He was very friendly & attentive.

This is a really conveniently located restaurant in a new development in North Kansas City. The food was really tasty; the decor and layout of the restaurant is very fresh. I met my friend for brunch on a Saturday morning, it wasn’t too busy and we didn’t have to wait for a table. The music played is Pop and, in my opinion, was played at a level that was too loud to have a comfortable conversation.
Our waitress was quick to welcome us and answered questions and got our drinks and meals promptly to our table, but she never checked back in to ask about our food. I had to walk up to the bar and ask for hot sauce and ketchup for my tacos and potatoes. Even when checking us out, the waitress never asked how we liked the meals we chose.
I was warned by a friend who dined here on a Friday night in the past that the she enjoyed the food at the restaurant but the level of noise from the music combined with a busy night made their experience poor. My friend never returned because they had such a difficult time having a conversation with their company while dining here.
Also, the Cortado coffee drink I ordered was not very hot despite it being made to order.
I may consider coming back again another time to try something else on the menu, but it won’t be anytime soon. My experience wasn’t 5 stars due to the atmosphere and service.

My husband and I came here last Thursday for Thanksgiving lunch. It was our first time (I’d been to Lee’s Summit) and I have to say that I prefer the layout of the north location. They have a nice mix of seating to accommodate groups of all sizes.
They had a special Thanksgiving menu and my husband and I both chose the roasted turkey with mashed potatoes, green beans, cornbread stuffing and cranberry sauce. Everything was delicious! I also give them props for having Founder’s breakfast stout on the beer list. High quality porters and stouts are a big plus. Our server, Angie was friendly and did a great job.
My only complaint was that we weren’t able to substitute any sides and had to pay for an extra side of the sweet potato casserole that came with the ham entree. (It was well worth it!) I understand that with the special menu they probably had limited quantities BUT it would be preferable to be able to choose your sides. Especially if someone has dietary restrictions.
Overall, a very happy Thanksgiving and we will be back!
