Absolutely Delicious and Worth Every Bite!

I stopped in for breakfast and was blown away — everything came out hot, hearty, and full of flavor! The plates were loaded with fresh ingredients and perfect portions. The biscuits and gravy were creamy and rich, topped with just the right amount of cheddar. The scrambled eggs were fluffy, the sausage perfectly seasoned, and the toast had that ideal golden crunch, & the strawberry jam was the best compliment

The Gravy Train brrakfast bowl was another standout — savory, comforting, and full of flavor . You can tell they take pride in their food and don’t cut corners. The French toast on the side was lightly crisp on the edges, soft inside, and paired perfectly with the whipped butter and syrup.

Between the warm coffee, friendly service, and generous servings, it was the kind of breakfast that hits every craving. Definitely a spot I’d come back to again and again.

Had an amazing experience at Third Coast Spice Cafe in Chesterton! This spot has such a warm, welcoming vibe that’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. ☕ The staff was super friendly and attentive, which made our visit even better.

I ordered the Durango Chicken Sandwich and wow — so flavorful! The chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned with just the right amount of spice ️ . The toasted bread had a perfect crunch, and it came with a side of crispy golden fries plus a delicious dipping sauce that tied everything together.

We sat outside and loved the relaxed atmosphere ️ — a cozy spot to enjoy great food and conversation. The coffee was excellent too ☕, rich and smooth, served piping hot in a fun, bright mug.

Overall, Third Coast Spice Cafe is a hidden gem in Chesterton. Fresh, thoughtful food, fantastic service, and a cozy vibe that keeps you coming back. I can’t wait to return and try more — especially after falling in love with that Durango Chicken Sandwich!

WARNING: FALSE ADVERTISING. It has been years since I’ve gotten breakfast here, so I was interested to see if things have changed. Oh brother have things changed….. The night before my breakfast I looked at the menu prices on their official website. When I got the menu in the restaurant I was shocked to see how much the prices have skyrocketed. I ordered a Sunny Side up meal ($12.95 online, $14.95 in the restaurant) and a large class of freshly squeezed orange juice ($5.00 online, $7.50 in the restaurant.) That is a 15% markup for my breakfast and a 50% markup for ORANGE JUICE. With that being said, you would expect to get a high quality meal for that price. WRONG. 2 boring eggs, 3 weak pieces of bacon, and don’t even get me started on the hashbrowns. They were crispy on the outside and then undercooked on the inside. Service was great but DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. You will get more food and cheaper food at Bob Evan’s or Round the Clock. At Bob Evan’s I got the same exact meal for $2 cheaper and it also came with 3 of the most delicious pancakes I’ve ever had. My friends were super disappointed in me after I said this spot was one of the best in town. I will NEVER waste my money here again. You are paying MORE money for LESS food. I rarely write google reviews, but this is an experience I can’t ignore. If you have dietary restrictions then wasting your time and money here is somewhat justifiable, but if you love food you are doing yourself a disservice by walking through the doors of Third Coast Spice Cafe.

Please update you Google account if you’re not going to be open during your actual business hours. Showed up at noon on a Saturday after driving 20 minutes and you were closed. Zero notice or heads up. The foods great but probably won’t return because the service is awful. After three consecutive issues here this is just the cherry on top.

I enjoyed my visit to Third Coast Spice Cafe while exploring Indiana Dunes State and National Parks. The inside atmosphere left a bit to be desired, but the outside patio was quaint and enjoyable, with umbrellas and flowers. My experience with the staff was friendly and helpful. My food and coffee arrived quickly and were very enjoyable. I will certainly make another stop when returning to the area.

While in the local area we decided to have bruch here, and we were pleasantly surprised. As we entered we were greeted by friendly server who told us there was a 10 minute wait. Once we were seated, by our friendly server, we had an opportunity to order our meals. I ordered and enjoyed the Buffalo Hot Hash. Once I tasted the food I was hooked. The Over Easy Eggs were perfectly cooked, and when broken into the yolks ran over and covered the hash. It added a creamy taste to counterbalance the spicy heat from the hash. The Harvest Grain bread was dense yet light and very flavorful. My wife loved the Buffalo BYO Burger. She said the hummus and feta, the toppings she selected, added lots of flavor. My son loved the grilled cheese because it included multiple types of cheeses.
