The sushi was delicious…we got the Volcano Lobster Roll which was a presentation in itself. The fire was a real head-turner. Fun to watch and also eat! The sushi itself tasted fresh. Although the Beef Tongue was tough in texture, flavors were still there. I’ve never had an Uni Shooter and OMG was that ever so delicious and smooth!! I would definitely come back again to try more of their stuff!

Everything was amazing. Service was a little slow given the fact that they were not super busy, but I think the food definitely made up for it. For bento you get two choices of mains: chicken, tofu; salmon teriyaki. I ordered two salmon teriyaki with sauce on the side. I also like their salad dressing which tastes homemade. The green tea Tirimisu was also delicious. But on the sweet side.
For price point, quality, and ambiance… great job Thekoi! Wish this three course set could be a regular menu item! I’d come here more often for sure!
Without the issue we had, it would have been a 4.5-stars
Great service, the server was always attentive, maybe a little long to dispatch food (especially that we have a toddler), the food is DELICIOUS. Not cheap, but that was expected.
Now the BAD:
The server accidentally split some sauce from a dish I had, and I realized when leaving that my jacket sleeve was covered with grease. The jacket was new, and a birthday gift from the previous week.
I was not mad, accidents happen, but I let the crew know, and kindly ask for a dry cleaning refund. 2 weeks after, no one called or sent an email, despite having the pictures, and my personal data. I paid $33.14 for cleaning. They should hold accountable.
So, would I come back? I don’t know…
“I went there for the second time, and the food was still amazing! The fish was really fresh and delicious. Everything was well-prepared, and the flavors were great. Definitely worth coming back again!”
waiting time around 4:30pm on Saturday.
– we ordered our drinks (draft beer and wine), appetizers (edamame and miso soup), and 4 rolls of sushi all in one order.
We were surprised how quickly the rolls came out but our appetizers came out last so we were already getting full.
they never brought our drinks out.
– we would wait for our waiter to check in… never did.
I tried to flat out stare at the manger or our waiter to catch their attention and nothing.
– overall experience was disappointing. We weren’t given our drinks which is literally a pour from a bottle/ draft which made our food experience missing something.
I really wished we could have enjoyed our time. But I don’t think we will come back.
