First time. Not big on bbq so I got the fried pork sandwich. It was very tender and had a lighter batter which I prefer, fried pickles also had a light batter and were very good. My mashed potatoes and gravy side was cold but it did have good taste just didn’t like that it was cold. Decent seating inside and out, nice views outside and also nice to be able to have a beer with it.

Stopped in Silverton and decided to try some BBQ and stopped by Thee Pitts Again BBQ. You walk in and order at the counter. The food (pulled pork) was really good and the service was great. The atmosphere is really interesting as this is an old building from back in the day. Apparently the show Diners Drive-in and Dave’s did a show on this place or the place when it was in Arizona. It is a little pricey though. We paid $45.00 for 2 pulled Pork sandwiches, 2 drinks, corn and fried Pickles. A great place to get some BBQ in Silverton.

This place gets my 5 stars across the board.
If Guy Fiere recommended it, I at least had to try it. I had the half slab, and my daughter had the pulled pork dinner with baked potato, baked beans, and Cole slaw.

Visiting from out of town and I love me some BBQ. So when the wife pointed out it’s a Trip DDD spot, I was down to try it.
I ordered the dinner beef brisket with mashed potatoes / gravy and baked beans. Wife got the brisket-lite option (see pics for reference). For dessert we had the peach pie a-la-mode and a Coors.
Food; I thought the brisket was 3-stars good. The beans and taters were okay, the corn bead a bit flavorless.
Price: Didn’t get an itemized breakdown but my bill was $60
Service; The service was good. The counter guy answered a couple questions for us and recommended the pie, which was really good. Our food was brought out to our outside table. It came quickly and everything was hot.
The a-la-mode was brought out after we finished eating. The pie was hot, the ice cream was plenty and the taste was great.
Plenty of seating inside and out. The interior was decorated with hodgepodge all over the walls and on every flat surface. Instead of a homey, abstract, weird feel, It makes it look dingy and dirty. There’s no way to clean all of the decorations, and it shows.
The food was good, could use some tweaks, but good overall. Lots of places to drop your dollar, I would try a different spot next visit. The city is amazing!

This place did not live up to the hype. The town was very busy the day we visited, but we were able to order right away. The food was really mediocre and not what you would expect. We ordered the brisket sandwichs, potato salad, mashed potatoes, onion rings. The portions are pretty small. The brisket sandwich was ok, but bland and really needs a ton of bbq sauce. The bun wasn’t toasted so it became soggy. The onion rings were super crispy and home made but tasted like Chinese food. It was odd. The potato salad was great, and the meal came with a yummy pickle. Overall I wish we had of stayed at the pizza place, but the wait was over 30 mins.

So great, we stopped here twice! Once on the way to Durango, CO & once on the way back home to Austin, TX. Delicious sides & BBQ brisket. Nice outside seating for our big dogs & kind staff. Would love to return.

Good brisket sandwich! I got the beef brisket sandwich with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. The mashed potatoes were real and with a little peel in them. They had outdoor seating and the staff was helpful. Overall good stuff!

It’s good to make friends on a road trip. Someone insisted that I should go to Silverton and eat at Thee Pits Again. I love BBQ. What can I say. So while I was road-tripping in Ouray, I headed to Silverton and looked for a pink structure in town. Yup, just like the dude told me. You can’t miss the place. It was late in the afternoon. They sold out of the brisket. I settled for the ribs. I can’t believe how much food they gave me for a little bite. And the food disappeared quickly. The ribs were falling off the bone. It’s juicy and tender. Their BBQ sauce was a hit. It was so worth the trip.

They are living off of Guy Fieri visiting them back in 2008 on his show Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, some 15 years ago. A lot can change in 15 years IE owners, menus, recipes, etc.
I really love barbecue and enjoy trying different ones. When walk into the place it’s like a dust bowl, it hits right in the face. It’s dark and dirty. Nobody eats inside cause it’s to dirty! I ordered the brisket, which is my favorite thing to get at barbecue places. An what I got looked more like pulled port! It was broken up into little pieces and watery, like they served me the crumbs from the day. Good brisket comes in slices with a nice outer layer of charred “bark” , that gives it’s smoke flavor and soft and moist inside. This was no where close to that! You will be able to see from the picture what they served as brisket. The brisket didn’t even have a smoke flavor or taste like it had been smoked. The side of baked beans I got tasted like they were straight out of a van. No Smokey barbecue flavor.
This place as no competition in town so they probably can get away with serving this. Tourists pass thru here everyday in the summer. Don’t waste your time or money.
Note: Brisket pic will be first one
UPDATE: AFTER OWNER RESPONDED. About 3 or 4 reviews down you clearly state that the brisket is not minced but sliced fresh everyday, not chipped. Care to elebrate why you tell me its chipped and this guy it was sliced? An my comment regarding the building was not cause of it being an old building, it was regarding all the dust and dirt you can see. When was the last time your barbcue won an award? inquiring minds would like to know.

Had the Brisket, fried pickles, cornbread and coleslaw. Haven’t found good brisket since Austin last summer. Very good here but a little on cold side. Fried pickles pretty darn good !
