The Yellow is a gem in Fort-de-France, combining a good wine list with a well-curated menu that delivers on quality, portion size, and flavor. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
For dinner, I had the rump steak skewer with garlic cream, served with black rice and sautéed vegetables – a generous portion with well-balanced flavors. I paired it with a 2019 from the Rhône region.
To finish, a Clément 1976 vintage rum was the perfect way to round out the meal, and the gesture of keeping the bottle was a memorable and appreciated touch. The service was top-notch, Gaby is attentive and friendly, and it adds to the experience.
The wine selection is good, featuring well-known French appellations at fair prices.
Overall, The Yellow is a must-visit when in Martinique. Excellent food, great service, and a fantastic atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back next time!

Fantastic food – probably the best on the island – somewhat lackluster service, terrible color scheme interior, but they definitely know how to grill a tuna and prepare a seafood risotto.

The concept of The Yellow Restaurant is a live menu, a menu that changes according to fresh produce that’s available on the island of Martinique. The cuisine merges French classics with Caribbean products and flavors. As much as possible the restaurants use locally reared products, such as duck, beef, and fish. All the sauces and desserts are made in-house depending on the mood of the Chef. The restaurant offers a theme dinner every full moon. Make sure to check them out in this full mood and whenever you are in Martinique.

Dining experience at the yellow restaurant is adding a star to our journey in Martinique. The seafood risotto with the black or purple rice is delicious with each seafood nicely cooked.

Recommend booking ahead! We were lucky but not a couple that came after us (there are some 26 places). It’s delicious. French cousine with Caribbean twist and made of local products. I had starter: crème brûle de boudin noir (blood sausage). The interpretation by the chef was just astonishing. Cocktails are tasty as well. Restaurant is not located on the ground floor, you need to climb some stairs.

I would say it is a 5 stars place but they don’t hace an english menu.
I asked the Tuna but nobody inform me it was raw. I have to say it was very good. New for me!
The Yellow cocktail was great!
The place is very small and the waiter speaker english but he was not very communicative.
If you asks me I would return to try another thing there.
For me, my small dinner was expensive (cocktail, main course and a coffee was about €35) so be prepared!

The food was sub par. The one redeeming part was that the steak was good. Everything else was an absolute miss on execution and flavor. Some of the flavors they were “playing” with should have never been paired.
On to the cocktails. These were hands down the worst part of our experience, and honestly could have been tainting our food experience. The flavor was off on all of them.
The service was good though. Even so, it wasn’t enough to make up for the lack of quality of the food and drinks.

We went on New Year’s Eve, on the early side with reservations at 7 pm. The restaurant is charming, and the tables lightly decorated for the evening. The fixed menu looked appealing, and we were not disappointed with the food. Every course was exquisitely prepared and presented. Unfortunately the service was a problem. Two of the three servers who attended us had no clue about table service and generally were in the way of the one overworked server who was trying his best. We waited 30 minutes between each course, and they lost track and gave us the same course twice. Our dinner took more than four hours, which is two too many for me.
Also only one person in the restaurant spoke English. This seems to be typical in Martinique, so Americans who don’t speak French should be forewarned.
