I randomly stopped for lunch at The Yard a few weeks ago, an outdoor spot tucked right inside (&outside) The Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee. I ordered the turkey BLT and loved that it came on a buttery, flaky croissant—such a great touch that took the sandwich to the next level.
That said, I tried the chicken katsu sandwich and it was seriously one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked chicken, the flavors were on point, and the mayo? Everything. I came across a “new menu” on Google & was a little bummed to see it’s no longer on the updated menu. I really hope they bring it back or I looked at an “old” or outdated new menu
The ambiance was great—I sat in the front near the hotel, but the outdoor lounge area looked super cozy and inviting. I’d love to come back at night, when the string lights and fire towers are lit up I feel like the area would be even cozier and cuter
The service was okay; I’m not sure if it’s because we were sitting outside but it felt like we didn’t get much service at all.
Overall, I really enjoyed the food and the vibe, and I’ll definitely be returning.

I always have a good time at everything ironhorse. Great brand – great staff – it’s a quality time. I recently attended their NYE party in their very dog friendly hotel and it was fantastic. Back to the yard. I have been here a few times during the summer and it is usually popping. People of all ages, dogs, good food and craft drinks. The service is always great. It’s an energetic space that draws a crowd.

Was told to just sit wherever on the patio. Our server Jessica started out with giving my husband two warm beers, and then when he was ready for another one we waited over 20 minutes. We had to flag down a different server to get Jessica, and she had forgotten the beer. The servers kept huddling up by the bar talking and on their phones while we were waiting. Not busy tonight but was told that there is a lot going on and thanked us for our patience, when we can see her not doing anything. Food was alright, nothing to write about really. Will not be back

Solid and busy spot for Sunday brunch. Food was solid variety everyone should be able to enjoy. Service was friendly and never annoying and they made an concerted effort to keep bottomless mimosas exactly that around the floor. The loaded potatoes might not look like a lot at first glance but the bowl is deceiving and if you leave hungry I’d personally be impressed.

This outdoor patio at Iron Horse is a hidden gem. Great food and a late night menu as well. Service has always been great. There are super comfortable couches and fire or heaters at almost all of the seating areas. I love this place.
It’d also a nice relaxing place to watch a Brewers or Bucks game.

The ambiance was everything! Food was mid, but I think people go for the drinks. I loved the fireplace the seating the was really nice great place for a date or catch up with friends. Will definitely return.

Great place to hangout with a group of friends and enjoy the company of your dogs too! The service is slow, it takes around 45 mins to an hour for food to arrive. The steak sandwich is highly recommended, but the chicken sandwich is too oily and sweet.
