The Works Cafe delivers exactly what a great café should—fresh food, thoughtful flavors, and a menu that feels both intentional and satisfying.
The Bacon Avocado Quinoa Bowl stands out. Hearty without being heavy. Clean ingredients. Bold, balanced flavors. The quinoa is well-prepared, the bacon adds just the right amount of savory bite, and the avocado brings a smooth, fresh finish that ties it all together. It’s the kind of meal that leaves you full—but energized, not sluggish.
The atmosphere matches the food. Welcoming. Comfortable. Easy to settle into whether you’re meeting someone, working for a bit, or just grabbing a solid meal. Service is efficient and friendly without feeling rushed.
If you’re looking for fresh, well-crafted food in Keene, The Works Cafe is a standout. Thoughtful menu. Consistent quality. And meals that feel good to eat.

This place used to be awesome. There’s a woman who works there who has worked there for years who’s very hard to get along with. She’s intensely falsely positive at the counter but if you have an issue with your food order, she’s defensive. She has blonde curly hair she’s older and I’m pretty sure she’s a manager, but I don’t believe she should be. As someone who has somebody who’s worked in food service, you do things to please the customer so they leave thinking the establishment is awesome. If there’s something wrong with your order, it should be fixed. Every time she working the food quality is significantly decreased. There’s barely any toppings on the sandwiches to the point that it actually decreases the quality of the food. A bagel with cream cheese is supposed to have cream cheese on it, when she’s working it has a tiny smear and the bagel is dry and lack luster. When I got a chicken salad sandwich, there was less than two tablespoons spoons of meat, and she was defensive. Ive been a customer for 30 years. She single handedly makes my experience less pleasant. I don’t believe she should be customer facing.

Recently was in town for work and had such a good experience I needed to make a review and I’m definitely not a review person. To start when I walked in I noticed the clean environment and fresh smell of bagels and my mouth was already watering. When I pulled up to the register I was then greeted by the most delightful bumble bee of sunshine named Deborah or Deb I think? Now if I had to guess this woman was working in commissions because of how accommodating, friendly and kind she was. After that I got my food and coffee and sat on the couch for a bit enjoying my breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg, and cheese, I know, classic) and it was just perfect! I just enjoyed the cozy vibes through and through. Sad I can only leave 5 stars cuz I’d give it 100. Great work!

This place is busy on a Sunday morning! The line was probably 10 people deep. Things move relatively quickly though. Got one of the quinoa bowls, which you can watch them make in a skillet right in front of you.

We were in Keene for a couple of nights, winter hiking Mt Monadnock and staying in Keene. This was a great place to get coffee and meals. Clean, convenient, friendly service, ample parking, great atmosphere, excellent food, not too expensive and plenty of GF and vegan options. Quick service too! First day we got sandwiches to go, and coffee early before we hit the mountain. Then back for a quick coffee, then back for dinner. Last day, we gotta coffee before we hit the road. Highly recommended!

Love the breakfast wraps and the versatility of ordering ahead. Always ready waiting on the shelf. The quinoa bowls for lunch are also a great choice, so filling enough for two meals!

Great spot to stop in the summer and grab food and smoothies. We often stop in Keene on our way home from Vermont. So I have frequented this place a few times now.
Friendly staff, food was good and sourced from farms. I really enjoyed sitting outside and eating. Parking is not too bad either. Definitely recommend giving the works a try.

This spot isn’t bad at all. I really enjoy the chicken—it’s not something I’d have every day, but it’s definitely tasty. The store is clean, and the staff are friendly, making it a pleasant experience.
