Tucked away in sunny Carpinteria, California, the family-owned Worker Bee Cafe is this cozy little joint dishing out breakfasts that’ll stick with ya forever. I tried their homemade corned beef hash, and oh man, it’s a real winner—big, juicy hunks of tender beef, spiced just right and slow-cooked till it’s melt-in-your-mouth good, not that shredded stuff you get most places. I paired it with eggs my way and some toast, and it was a hearty plate that had me beggin’ for seconds. That beef’s so soft it falls apart, with crispy taters and a kick of spice to boot. Folks from town and travelers can’t stop yappin’ about it bein’ the best darn hash ever—one bite and I was hooked, it’s famous for a reason! The warm vibe and super-friendly crew made my wait totally worth it. If you’re nearby, swing by—you won’t regret it. 5/5 stars!

The food was excellent. The service was fast and excellent. The restaurant is owned and operated by a lovely, friendly couple. There are LOTS of gluten free choices and also vegetarian. The patio is dog friendly and they have fresh, clean bowls available for your dog. I had eggs Benedict and it was perfect. I look forward to eating here again – I saw garlic Cajun fries on the menu! Highly recommend

This place is a hidden gem. The food is fresh and delicious. I came expecting normal dinner food which is usually “meh.” But this place kicks it up a notch or two. I ordered steak (10 oz NY strip) and eggs because Keto but the steak was seasoned/marinated and very tasty. Others ordered strawberry waffles and scrambled eggs with jalapeno bacon. I had a bite of the waffle which was Waffle House level amazing and also learned that the strawberries are sourced from local farms. The jalapeño bacon was pretty amazing as well. The jalapeno flavor was not overpowering or spicy, just a loud whisper. Would definitely recommend a stop here for breakfast or brunch.

Had high hopes for this cute restaurant however we were disappointed with the outdated menu and the mediocre fare.
Do not come here is you are vegetarian or vegan, they use one small grill for everything and everything tastes like meat and old oil.
Ordered:
2 eggs any style with hash browns and biscuit
Eggs were ordered over easy and came came over hard
Hash Brown’s tasted of rancid/old oil and were cooked on the same grill as meat products, though there was no meat in the hash browns
Biscuit was fluffy if a bit tasteless
The water was served in a plastic cup, the water tasted like bacon and eggs, so probably the cup wasn’t cleaned properly
Requested another water, no greasy bacon taste, but tasted like plastic
The ketchup on the table was a bit fermenty and probably sitting out too long
Breakfast burrito was oily and meaty

Lovely place for a family breakfast. I enjoyed the corned beef and orange juice with sourdough. My son liked his eggs, but the home fries were not his cup of tea. I liked mine though! Husband liked his oatmeal with berries.
The owner was friendly and the waitress was great.

This is a very cute place and we will go back. My husband ordered the Steak, Eggs, and gluten free English Muffins. The steak was ok. I got the spinach omelette and it was chocked full of spinach. I like my hash browns crispier than these were but I’m sure others love them. The service is excellent and they have several gluten free options. Next time, I want to try the jalapeno bacon.

My husband and I are in vacation and I found this spot. This place is excellent. The service is great, the father and son duo Rick and Rick are very personable and very helpful. This family owned business will be there for a long time if they continue to serve excellent food and give great service. We ate there twice for breakfast and brought friends with us the second we came this week. This place is definitely worth visiting if you are in the area.

The Worker Bee Café in Carpinteria, CA, is a charming little restaurant that is definitely worth checking out. From the moment you walk in, you’ll be greeted with outstanding customer service that will make you feel right at home. The food is equally impressive, with a menu that offers a range of delicious options.
For breakfast, I highly recommend ribeye and eggs. The steak was cooked well and had a rich, savory flavor that paired perfectly with the fluffy eggs. The country potatoes were crispy and seasoned just right, adding a nice crunch to the dish.
The eggs benedict with toast was another standout dish. The eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce had a nice tangy flavor that complemented the dish. The toast was also perfectly toasted, with a nice crunch that added a nice texture to the dish.
The waffle and berries are a must-try dish. My daughter always orders this dish and they do a great job here at the Worker Bee Café. The waffle was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with just the right amount of sweetness. The fresh berries added a nice tartness that perfectly balanced the sweetness of the waffle.
And let’s not forget about the mimosas. The full-glass mimosa was a great way to start the day, with a refreshing and delicious flavor that paired perfectly with the breakfast dishes. My wife and I love the mimosas here. It’s one of the reasons we keep coming back.
Overall, the Worker Bee Café is a great spot for breakfast. The customer service is outstanding, the food is delicious, and the outdoor seating in the back adds a nice touch of charm to the dining experience.
