We arrived here for our first trivia night, which was pretty good overall, so we expected service to take longer with the rounds of trivia happening, but these wait times were a little ridiculous. When we were eventually ordering, some problems arose. One of my friends just wanted an ice cream dessert, and the waitress kept denying each of her orders, she eventually asked “What DO you have?” and the waitress said “None of it”. Why have an entire dessert section on the menu if you don’t have any of it???
My friend ordered a BLT before me and when the waitress came to me, I attempted to order the salmon. She then said “BLT?” I assumed she must of misheard me and thought I said “Same”, so I corrected her and said “No, the salmon”. I knew it was a little loud so I spoke louder and even opened my menu and pointed at the salmon option. With 1 round of trivia left, our food finally started to come out and I was brought over a BLT. After refusing it and correcting the waitress AGAIN, she rudely said, “Well its gonna be a while before that comes out”.
Most of our group got waters, so they placed two glass bottles of water on the table, but it ran out pretty quick. The waitress never came out to refill the waters or even follow up after the food was served. We couldn’t find her to get more water. I tried some of my friends food, which was actually pretty good, but another one of my friends got the “Skillet Mac and Cheese” which was clearly NOT cooked in a skillet, but rather just plated on one. She mentioned that the noodles were very watery and the cheese was unpleasant to eat. Another person at our table never got any of the advertised aioli and the waitress barely came out to help, so another member of the table got up and had to actively search out another waitress to try and get some sauce. She never got it. We also had to wait a good 20 minutes after trivia ended for each of us to pay our bill. I eventually found the waitress and she shortchanged me a whole dollar. I literally could NOT find her to tell her that my change is missing.
This is a local establishment that is fairly new, and I hate to leave bad reviews for local places, but this is an exception. After reading other reviews for this place, it seems that this is NOT the only time any of the things that happened. Previous reviews state the EXACT same reasons for their 1-star reviews: Extremely long wait times for small things, wait staff avoiding tables and being rude, getting orders wrong, food tasting poorly, false advertising, and short-changing customers. Despite the restaurant saying “They genuinely appreciate constructive criticism”, it seems that this establishment is all words and no action. They will acknowledge you (never in the restaurant though) and say the same thing. ” This is unacceptable and we will bring this up with our staff to ensure that it NEVER happens again.” Except that it DOES happen again, over and over. I wanted to like this place, but the service was so awful and disrespectful I was driven to write this review and speak up. I hope this place actually attempts to improve, but I just don’t see that happening.
Go for the atmosphere alone! Whether inside or out. The patio is beautiful, with flowers and views galore. The inside is decorated with tie dye and Woodstock memorabilia, as well as a cool wall depicting the crowd at Woodstock.
The food was pretty good and I definitely would go back if in the area again. They feature live music a couple nights a week as well as trivia.
Had the woodstock burger and foxy lady avocado toast, both yummy, not a lot of avocado though. Prices a bit high. Our waitress Maryanne was great
Salty is a great server! Whole experience was OUTTA SIGHT!
