We were excited to come here for a special occasion, but were disappointed with the quality of food for the prices. There are better places overall in the area where you can spend 20% less for better food. That being said, the ambiance and service were top-notch. He got an aged steak that he had been looking forward to for weeks, only to have it overcooked. I tried some and agree it was overcooked and dry – definitely order it rarer. Otherwise, the brussel sprouts appetizer was our favorite of the dishes. The calamari was also quite good and surprisingly reheated well at home. I had the bolognese and it was good, though unfortunately a bit cold when it arrived. The drinks were pricey but tasty. Our waiter was excellent and attentive. The atmosphere was also perfect – we were seated right near a fireplace. Definitely worth a try, but we won’t be going back for quite some time since we prefer several other places in the area and are willing to sacrifice some ambiance for better food at much lower prices.

What a delight finding this restaurant turned out to be. You wouldn’t know it from the name, but this is an upscale full-service restaurant that clicks all the boxes! We had an excellent dinner here with friends on a rather unbusy Friday night. I don’t know why a restaurant of this quality was not packed, but we did eat early at 5pm. The food was excellent. I began my meal with the onion soup. It was covered with cheese floating on a crouton, hot, delicious and not overly salty as you often find at other restaurants. My entree was the half rack of lamb was cooked to perfection and tender as butter. My wife had a pork shank served with a crusty risotto cake that she loved. We also enjoyed some glasses of wine to accompany our meal.
We’ll be back to The Woodshed restaurant. It is absolutely one of the best restaurants around Lake Winnipesaukee.

What a fabulous New Year’s experience once again. Meals were outstanding, appetizers perfect, desserts amazing. Alyssa our server was, personable, efficient, articulate and highly professional.

I find it interesting that people keep comparing the new woodshed to the original wood shed… Which burned down 10 years ago. I never ate at the original, but this one is absolutely beautiful and our food as well as our service (Deni was our waitress) were wonderful.
I had a fillet which was cooked perfectly and I recommend getting the sautéed mushrooms as well. My wife had salmon and said it was delicious. The building is beautiful, we were seated immediately, our server did a great job, and we felt the night was a great experience!

We love the New Woodshed. We just left dinner there and it did not disappoint! Every-time we plan a visit up here we always make sure to include the New Woodshed. The food is top notch ! The steaks are high quality . I’ve been to some of the finest restaurants in Boston and nothing compares. We love the ambiance , it’s super clean and a pleasant place to come for a fine dining experience in the lakes region . Greg ,Tory and their staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome . They are very attentive to everything . I am not sure why some people have negative things to say about Greg and his team . As most people know some people are unreasonable and impossible to make happy . Greg has always been kind and pleasant . Greg and Tory are always walking around checking on all the tables . We can’t wait for our next trip back .

The soup is not hot enough is just warm temperature the bread is not warm enough and my entree wasn’t hot enough is warm temperature. I had to wait more than 5 minutes for my drink , it was very long wait for our entrees. Your surface is alright. You had a sorta good waitress.

Overpriced dinner for two at the bar. Excellent service, delicious food. With tax & tip, over $100 for one glass of wine, two salads each with salmon. We saw our neighbors on the way out; they had a similar experience.

Fabulous place. Worth the prices. First class dining in a rustic setting. Warm greeting upon arrival and perfect service. The food is excellent, and the homemade blue cheese salad dressing on the wedge salad is exquisite. The beef is excellent and there are many other fine choices, including seafood and pasta.

I love this place so much! The owners came and spoke to me and my family for nearly 15 minutes, showing how much they care and treat their customers like family. The food is amazing and so is the staff. I also love the decor, especially the taxidermy fish. Will go back again and again! Thank you Woodshed! Best restaurant around!
