The experience here was nice. They served us in a timely manner and the food was delicious . My only problem was being overcharged for one of my appetizers. Their egg rolls are priced at $22 for 3 which is a good deal considering the size and quality, but I somehow got charged an additional $15 for no reason! As seen in the pictures provided there was no difference between the number of egg rolls we ordered for dine-in compared to the takeout order. There is no justifiable reason why an appetizer should be more than either of the main dishes. The gratuity is a little steep as well. Good service deserves a sufficient tip but, it’s locked in 18% which doesn’t match the level of service we received. If you’re considering eating here the food is definitely worth a try. I’d probably recommend take-out though. Even with the food quality being high, $15 is a significant amount to accidentally over charge and I believe you should be able to tip what you choose. If you dine in double check that receipt!!!

I really wanted to support this business but @ the same time want to be honest. We went on Sunday for a birthday brunch, party of 6. There were only ppl @ like 2 other tables but the service was super slow. It took over an hour for us to get our cocktails & everyone was seemed their drinks & food at different times. The cocktails were weak. I got a lemon drop with Hennessy, another person got the flight w Hennessy. As you can see from the photo its not even a tinge of brown in the glass. I 1st ordered the t-bone steak medium & when it came it was paper thin & literally grey in color. I tried it as to not be difficult but it was super tough & cold so I returned it for the oxtails. Others at the table asked for their meals to be microwaved. By the time my oxtails were brought out everyone else at the table had ate already. So I agreed to have my meal brought out in a carry out container. Looking back, I should’ve at that point just told them never mind abt the meal completely. While handing me my food he waitress explained the presentation wasn’t the best but they wanted me to know they put the full serving in there & apologized for it not being “cute.” I promise I didnt shake up the container, this is literally how it was handed to me. Picture attached. This was unacceptable & @ that point I was just starving & ready to go. It took a long time for us to get things like water, straws, our receipts & change back. I will add, the fried chicken & the oxtails & grits were really good. But this establishment needs some work in a few areas.

So for the grown and sexy vibe this Buffalo Gem is a level up with an extensive wine bar menu, 3 bars & quite a tasty menu with many vegan friendly items. I personally loved the buffalo cauliflower. the decor and atmosphere was on point, so many private areas to catch that perfect camera angle. First let’s start with the positives. The pro’s: 1. Great location, in the heart of downtown Buffalo. 2. There is parking. 3. The interior and ambiance is good. 4. THE Food was AMAZING! Like 5 STARS!!!
Now the negatives, the cons: 1. The need to hire or train staff. The young lady we had was nice, but she didn’t write stuff down, she just tried to remember your order. 2. From the moment you sit, to the time you receive a glass of water, or a server comes over to take drink orders, you will have a long wait. But having a trained server would know how to pace the whole dining experience. Especially if the kitchen is backed up. Or the fact that there maybe only one bartender. 3. The music. The first time we went for brunch on a Sunday, so gospel music played. For dinner it jumped from classic R&B to inappropriate Rap. No consistency.
Overall, I still rate it a 4 stars because the food was delicious. With a few minor adjustments with staffing, this place could be on par with Lombardo’s , Sienna’s or Hutches. It’s just that good!
Would I go back? Probably because of the food, but be prepared to wait.

First off i want to say i always want to support black owned establishments but the service i received was very disappointing there was no host not sure if they was short that night the waitress was really nice there was no wine and drink menu it took s while for our food to come out the crab cakes was amazing! One of friends didn’t like her entree and the owner came out hostile idk if she was having a bad night but didn’t even try to fix it and make it right ! I wish my experience was better because i heard so many good reviews

I had gotten this honey Cajun half chicken and it was so good and juicy. The customer service was amazing and I was greeted with smiles. I felt right at home. The owner came down and asked me how everything was and if there was anything they can do to make my experience better. They really care about their customers and let me tell you !! That chicken was really juicy and well seasoned who ever the chef was they did an amazing job. I will definitely come back and so worth the money !!!!!

Reservation for party of 23 at 6. 1 waitress! Did not receive any complimentary appetizers. Did not receive food until 7:30-8. Maybe should have asked for pre orders especially for the $90 tomahawk steak for 2 asked for well done but full of pink inside.
Everyone agreed collard greens were terrible, box Mac n cheese, cornbread hard as a rock, creamed corn was dried up and taste like paste, FISH, FRIED CHICKEN, AND OXTAILS AND PASTA WAS GOOD. Very pricey for food not to be better. SERVICE WAS GOOD. WAITRESS WAS VERY PATIENT AND FRIENDLY. Really think it was due to the size of the party, however, side dishes were a given so they definitely should have been very good to taste. ALOT of money was spent with high expectations NOT met.

We met Star at the World’s Largest Disco as our bar tender. She invited us for brunch at her restaurant. We had a team of nine and we all enjoyed our experience at The Woods & Wine. Star is an exceptional server. She gave us her undivided attention while being very pleasant. Highly recommend The Woods & Wine.
