Found this place on a whim, and glad we did! This is one of the nicest places we have found to eat. Great food and waitress was very nice, a very unique place, the menu was a one of a kind, meaning if when you go to a place if small details make you happy, this is the place you want to go. Highly Recommended.

1st time there & Ordered the crab dip & bacon avocado burger. Crab dip seemed to lack the crab so that was an okay start. Burger was good. Fresh cut fries were great. It’s a small upstairs seating area but wasn’t crowded for 3pm on a Saturday.

Awesome place , we love visiting historic buildings like this, especially when they are restaurants. We made reservations a few days ahead of time to make sure we had seating in the tunnel room. When we arrived we were told to sit wherever we like . It took a little bit for us to find our way to the stairs to the tunnel room. The ambiance of the room was very nice , we loved how the stone walls were exposed near the tunnel. We ordered the Irish Egg Rolls they were very good even though they were a little greasy . My wife ordered the Fisherman’s Pie, which was very good as well. I had the Guinness Chicken, the chicken was very tender, and the Guinness glaze paired perfectly with the chicken . We will definitely be returning . We’ll worth the 1hr and half drive .

There is barely any parking so be prepared to walk. My wife’s chicken tenders where burnt and dry. The Sheppards pie had so much grease in the bottom that my stomach ached all night. Oh yeah. Bathroom in the basement had a completely clogged sink overflowing onto the floor.

Great buffalo chicken mac and cheese, and I love the keg garlic sauce for their wings. Have had a lot of items on the menu and everything has always been great. I usually come here with a bigger crowd, and the kids in group always enjoy sitting in the tunnel room downstairs. Would definitely recommend.

I kept seeing posts on Facebbok of the food at The Wooden Keg. My husband and I wanted to give it a try for a while and finally had the opportunity to stop by. The food portions were large and also tasted great. We will be back to try more items on the menu. The crab dip was good but a little lacking on the crab. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra $1.50 and get those pita points. We wanted to try a bunch of stuff, so we also took a lot home.

Had a slight issue with coldness of food from the kitchen with our appetizer, but the service we received from Ayla was fantastic and so was the food after the little hiccup at first. Alcoholic mixes were great. Ayla came to check on us plenty and made sure we were well taken care of. Very good customer service!

I was visiting my parents who live in the area, from out of state, and they insisted we needed to go to The Wooden Keg. What an awesome bar! I loved the historical note of the location with the Molly Maguires. Growing up in the Skook, I know quite a bit about them, so it was awesome to see the tunnel and the historical information shared in the decor.
We had quite a few of their different entrees: loaded Irishman fries, roasted garlic parm wings, pierogies, French onion soup, blackened shrimp Alfredo, a brisket sandwich, buffalo chicken cheesesteak, and Mac and cheese. Our entire group was in love with the food, experience, and service. When we’re back in the area, we will definitely return!! I had the wings this time but next, I will definitely have one of their many Mac and cheeses (and some more wings because they are the best I’ve had to date!) I was super impressed by my moms Mac and cheese she chose, usually they are dry, under cheesed and under seasoned at restaurants. Not at The Wooden Keg! It’s creamy, cheesy and super flavorful. Can’t wait to come back!!

After visiting Yuengling, we came here for lunch. We looked up the area pubs and taverns, and came across the menu that I salivated over for 2 weeks. We ended up at the St. Clair location, which has a little different menu…. but don’t let change your mind on location. The charm of this pub made me feel as I was in Ireland. I had the Irish Steak Sandwich, as I am from Philly, and she had the Paddy Melt. We shared the Guinness Gravy Fries. I ended up taking half of the cheesesteak home, as I was stuffed. The food was delicious, cheesesteak far exceeded my expectations ! Remember I’m from Philly, so I have had my share to compare to! We will be back to try their wings! That sauce selection is incredible! It also has a very interesting book case….
