Wow! What a great view, amazing service and food and lots of fun! We arrived around 4:30 and were able to get a table right by the edge of the patio. The view was breathtaking, The service was great. We really enjoyed the great food and drinks. The mango Sorbet was very tasty too! Our family at home enjoyed spying on us on the webcam. Easy taxi ride up the hill and then Taxis were waiting as we left. Make the time to check this out!!

Wow! What a GREAT afternoon at the Windmill Bar this past week! Incredible views, relaxed atmosphere, and very friendly / welcoming staff! Must stop here if you are visiting St John! Worth a trip up to the top of St John. We had Branner as our bartender and he was GREAT! Can’t wait to go back next time we are on the island!

A gem! You get an indirect view of the sunset, but the vibes are awesome. Loved the live music. Would recommend coming during the day to see sweeping views of surrounding islands.
First come, first serve. Go early if you want a good seat.

The only reason I’ve given 3 stars to food is because they were still on a seasonal menu which is super light. All starter foods but also not great options. Other than that this place is A MUST SEE. You know the feeling of euphoria you get after a good, long hike and you see the beauty at the top? That’s this place. Except you don’t hike, you take a taxi. The view is phenomenal and majestic and something magical to behold. If you choose to only go for photo ops, cool. It’s worth it. Go and sit on the edge. Don’t get a seat in the middle. Take in the view. Go at sunset. Omg it’s gorgeous I promise, you won’t be disappointed. FYI taxis hate to take you here because it’s out of the way but ummmmmm soooooo! GO. They usually have live music. Good view, good vibes, live music, WINNING!

We had to go be on the live camera! Best views ever! Fish sandwich was great. The “shaved prime rib” was eh. Tasted like a steakum. They forgot my cheese also. The waitress had to go get the cheese slices. Drinks were good. Some really cool ruins on the property as well.

The Windmill Bar did not disappoint! We took a group of 19 and had a great experience. They don’t take reservations, however, I didn’t want to just surprise them with a group of 19. I emailed them in advance of our trip to see if they would be able to accommodate such a big group. They quickly responded that they would be willing to save some space for us and to just send a text to confirm in the morning. The night before our reservation, I asked if they would be willing to cook our catch from our fishing excursion (20+ lbs of mahi and tuna). They had not done that before but the owner quickly asked their chef and let me know they could also accommodate that request. We arrived during bingo which is a very busy (fun!) time and they were able to seat us in a reasonable time and brought out mahi sandwiches, mahi bowls, and tuna nachos with our catch. Every dish exceeded expectations! We can’t thank the owner and staff at The Windmill Bar enough. Also, best view in St. John!

A bit of a tourist trap. Decent food. And offers a spectacular view!
We had the fried plantain appetizer and the veggie burger. But I don’t like brioche delivered is whattraditionally think of as brioche. Which was a thanks haha because I don’t like brioche buns.
Location doesn’t have a blender so they are unable to make some traditional drinks that require blending. I think that this is something that they should invest in.
Clientele is definitely Midwest and southern American.
Will also put your card on file for open tab. It’s a bar.

The place is fantastic, the view is worth the trip alone, the food was good and came out quick. We were there when they had a live performance ( a band ) and they were great. Very clean restrooms.

This place has the best sunset view by far. The view during the day is darn good too! Food will give you some calories, and most of the staff is cool. The live music sets the vibe for sure! I will be back for sunset again!
