The Whiskey House delivers a great experience overall. I ordered a bourbon flight, and my wife had a strawberry margarita—both were excellent. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and happy to talk through the whiskey selection, which really elevated the experience.
For food, I had the NY strip steak. It was okay and a bit tough, but still enjoyable. My wife’s Caesar salad was fantastic, and everything else about the meal and drinks hit the mark.
The ambiance is top-notch—warm, lively, and perfect for a night out. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, atmosphere, and service make it worth it. We’d absolutely come back, especially for the drinks and vibe.

94 page whisky menu. Good happy hour selections.
The place is quiet and reasonable in price. $6 for a beer with a shot of their house whisky during Happy Hour. They claim the Guinness Book of Records for whisky selection. Can’t argue (see pictures).
Recommend the scotch marinated pork chop or sausage sandwich happy hour specials.
Indoor and outdoor seating.

The environment is great, they have all the walls with whiskeys. Is a world of whiskey bottles, so impressive. The service and food were excellent!!! The only feedback to improve is the price of the 1oz whiskey. They are so expensive in comparison with the price of a bottle and a considerable earning by selling it in portions.

This place is a must when in San Diego. Great food, service and atmosphere. Make it a point to come enjoy the Guinness Book of World Record holder of over 4500 available whiskeys!

GREAT FOR WHISKY LOVERS!! We were staying in downtown and currently into Scotch… what a better place than Whisky House! We really enjoyed it here, we went 3 times total. First time we went on a Sunday towards the end of the Padres regular season game. It was a bit warm inside, no AC or we couldn’t feel it. It wasn’t too busy because the game was going on but got pretty busy after the game ended. We ordered the Japanese Tasting #2 and I got the Killkeran 12. The 2nd time around we made it for Happy Hour and we ordered the Scotch Egg and Kale Salad. Then we ordered 3 Scotchs: Kilchoman Loch Gorm, Bladnoch 10 and the Lagavulin Offerman Rum Cask. Everything was good but the Kilchoman Loch Gorm was really nice! Our last time we were literally 1 minute away from needing to sit outside but we snagged an inside table. This was on a Friday around 5 pm, super busy! For Happy Hour food we shared the Pork Chop (Marinated in Scotch, thyme, rosemary & garlic). usually served with fries but got salad instead. For Whisky we got the Mortlach 12, Ardmore Tradition and Strathisla 12. I really liked the Mortlach, super meaty! Overall always great service and would recommend any Whisky Lover to come here!

Awesome atmosphere in a place that has a Guinness record for the largest varieties of whiskey. The food is great and it is not upscale, very relaxing and also outside seating.

Great place for happy hour. Food is good, drinks are better.
We had the Happy Hour Salmon, Porkchop, and Mac-n-Cheese. With the Creme Brulee and Brownie to wrap it up. Definitely worth the visit for just the Atmosphere and whiskey selection.

If you want a true whiskey experience and figure out what you like best ask for Austin, he knows his whiskey’s and loves to share his knowledge. Scotch egg, wings, salmon (wife’s favorite by far) and brownie dessert were all very good.

Came in with high expectations, left with a $20 Old Fashioned and an eye-roll.
Yes, the whiskey wall is jaw-dropping. It’s a collector’s dream, or maybe just an Instagram backdrop. But if you’re looking to actually enjoy a pour without feeling like you’re taking out a second mortgage — this ain’t it.
The Pappy Van Winkle flight at $599? Get outta here. That’s not tasting — that’s theft. Plenty of places serve the same for a fraction of the price. You’re paying for hype, not hospitality.
Service was fine, drinks were okay, but the vibe felt more like a velvet-rope museum than a bar that respects whiskey drinkers.
Verdict:
Amazing selection, sure. But unless you’re an oil baron or just really into price-flexing, this is more of a see-and-leave spot than a stay-and-savor one.
Hard pass.

Hands down one of the BEST whiskey spots I’ve ever been to. Very much a Speakeasy vibe and a selection of whiskey I’ve never seen before. Take time to explore new adventures. Definitely a must when in San Diego.
