We were in Navasota for a high school baseball tournament the past three days. We had two of the best meals we have ever had at any restaurant. My husband got the sirloin special. I think it was 12 oz with two sides for $26. Unbelievably good price. The steak was 100% edible. No fat or gristle and tender as a filet. Perfectly cooked medium rare. I had a BLT that was loaded with bacon. Greatest onion rings ever. The second night we ate there, I had a grilled chicken breast with green beans and a baked potato. The tenderest best flavored chicken and their green beans are sinfully good. My husband had the hamburger steak, baked potato and green beans. So so good. We couldn’t eat it all so brought it home for a second meal. I don’t know our waitress’s name but she was great. We were sad to leave Navasota. Love Western. Also we had our travel trailer at the RV park there. No amenities but we didn’t need any. Sorry I didn’t get a pic of the sirloin!

First time visit. We been wanting to check the place out so decided to drop by while in town. It Wasn’t very busy, plenty of seating room. Had a home vibe. Friendly waitress We tried the sweet tea which was good and fried mushrooms for appetizer. My husband loved the fried mushrooms. I got the western chicken fried w baked potatoes and grilled veggies. Hubby tried the rare steak. The grilled veggies were the best! They have live music on weekends. We will have to come back and try out some more menu items and hit the dance floor.

My husband and I ate here on a Friday evening. We had to wait a little for a table because there were 7 empty tables but they all needed to be bussed. They don’t have a busser and we saw the waitresses doing it so I understand why they hadn’t gotten to them yet. Hubby had the steak and it was perfectly cooked..I had the chicken and it was juicy and flavorful. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and working her butt off. Our salads came out with our meals which is a pet peeve of mine but mistakes happen and she apologized.

The food was decent, but the menu posted on google is NOT what they actually have. They no longer have frog legs or quail, which was disappointing.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very good and the food is very delicious. some employees are good , some are totally unconcerned. ( While watching the TV on the bar, I noticed a waitress casually throwing something in the bucket in front of a customer who is seating at the bar area enjoy his dinner , anyway I was surprised .If anyone does that to me ,I don’t think I will be happy )

I was going to order extra food to go and asked if I can get some ice ,but one of the waitress said they don’t have anyway to pack it up…… I said I can bring my cooler in ,would you help me please? but she still said no and rejected . I don’t mind pay extra money to get ice or leave more tips . But no matt what they can’t give me anything and said she can’t ask manager since manager is not there . So I left and continued my long journey at late night ……

They changed the steak supplier. If you want a ribeye that you can hardly chew, then try a grisley piece of jerky.

The Western Steakhouse & Dancehall in Navasota, Texas, strikes a memorable balance between hearty food, live country-vibe entertainment, and down-home Texas charm. Housed in a converted used-car dealership, this place isn’t just about eating—it’s about experiencing.

On the food side, the menu delivers classic steakhouse fare with some casual comfort twists— wings, fried pickles, hush puppies, steak bites, and sizeable grinders alongside more traditional fare like sirloin. Portion sizes tend to be generous, and while flavor earns praise in many reviews, consistency isn’t perfect—some report over-peppered dishes or sides that could be more polished.

The ambience is one of its biggest draws. There’s a front restaurant/bar and a back dance hall with a spacious wood dance floor, stage, and regular live music, especially on weekend nights. Room layout and design (low ceilings, rustic décor, big fans, good vantage points) make for a lively, community feel—whether you’re dining, grabbing a drink, or dancing.

On the flip side, some patrons note slower service, occasional mixups with orders, and pricing that feels steep for certain menu items—especially when sides or service don’t match expectations. Also, when there’s a big show or crowded night, waiting times and noise levels go up.

Overall, The Western is ideal if you’re looking for a place that combines a solid steak dinner with boots, live country tunes, and a relaxed, social Texas dance hall vibe. If precision and a quiet dinner are your priority, it might fall short—but if you’re there for the full experience, it delivers.

This place was awesome! We got there at 1:30-2pm and it wasn’t too busy at all. You seat yourself, and then someone will come out and bring you a menu and take your drink order. They came out maybe 5 minutes after we got there so we didn’t feel rushed but we also didn’t feel like we needed to find someone to help us! We ordered fried pickles and mozzarella sticks to start, they were AMAZING. We get friend pickles everywhere we go but I honestly think this place was the best we’ve ever had. The batter they use was thin and crispy, not too salty and a HUGE serving. The Mozzarella sticks were good too! But the pickles were the show stopper. I got the chicken strips and my sister got the burger. Strips were perfectly cooked and the batter was perfectly crunchy. My sister said the burger was amazing. And the fries! So good. The atmosphere of this place was super warm, inviting, and friendly. You could tell it’s a place where locals go often. There was a good amount of parking but I imagine come 7pm when the dance hall starts it gets a bit more tight. They have handicap parking and very wide doors to fit wheelchairs if needed. The dining area is laid out so if you’re in a wheelchair you can easily find a place to sit.
