My husband and I have pretty much stopped going to restaurants because we have been terribly disappointed over and over. I’m a much better cook than most restaurants we’ve been to lately. Tonight’s meal was different. My husband said it was one of the best steaks he’s ever had in a restaurant. He had the ribeye, garlic mashed potatoes, and lobster gnocchi. I had the filet, garlic mashed potatoes, and truffle fries. Service was perfect – attentive but also left us alone. Everything was excellent!

The Western Reserve was an awesome surprise from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, with that classic steakhouse feel but without being stuffy. Their booths are honestly some of the best I have sat in: roomy, comfortable, and perfect for settling in and taking your time over a meal. Our server was friendly, checked on us often, and had great timing with everything, which made the whole visit easy and enjoyable.
We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, and it was one of the better versions I have had. It came out hot and creamy with plenty of flavor and just the right amount of cheese, and the wood fired flatbread it was served with was perfect for dipping. It disappeared from the table fast and set the tone for the rest of the meal.
The highlight of the visit was the Golden Pulled Pork pizza. The crust had great texture, the golden barbecue sauce was sweet and smoky, and the pulled pork was tender and well seasoned. The jalapeño added a nice kick without overpowering anything. Overall, The Western Reserve delivered a really solid experience, and I would definitely come back and order both of those again.

My overall experience was positive. However, the menu and food were a confusing experience. The wood fired chicken was unavailable and so was the coulotte steak. The menu lists wagyu as an option on the pizza but does not indicate which cut. The menu also lists a black opal wagyu steak but does not list the cut. That is what I ended up ordering which was a denver steak. The steak was actually phenomenal and one of the best steaks I have ever received at a restaurant. It had a nice char and butter. It was also cooked to a perfect medium rare. It was very tender. The green beans were under seasoned and the mashed potatoes were dry. My wife got a pizza with caramelized onions and basil. However, the onions were not caramelized and the pizza had parsley instead of basil. The cheese also did not have much flavor. Overall, the pizza was pretty mid. Seemed like something you would get from one of those make your own fast casual pizza joints. The atmosphere was fun and our waitress was very kind and patient.

We came for lunch today and the menu for lunch was amazing and very affordable . The tacos are a must try we tried one of each beside the lobster but that’s next. We had a chicken bacon ranch taco, shrimp taco, wagyu taco, and chorizo with a side of fries and chips and salsa and an espresso martini for 40$. The drink was basically the most expensive item we had. Chips and salsa seemed to be fresh and house made and the fries also. We recommend coming here!! Love this place.

Loved this restaurant! We ordered a steak with green beans and mashed potatoes, a sweet heat pizza, artichoke spin dip, and a Moscow mule. Everything was amazing, service was more than accommodating and attentive, food didn’t take too long and was hot when served. The taste of the food was great, well seasoned, and steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare first time round. Alcoholic beverage was good, always enjoy a Moscow mule.
The menu has a range of prices but mostly include steak and pizza.
Atmosphere was great, giant booths that were comfortable. Katie was a great waitress/bartender who was very kind and quick!
We will be coming back and with more people in tow!

Absolutely awesome lunch here and our first visit. It’s located in an old bank building with lots of interesting architecture and details. My husband had a delicious Bistro Steak w/sauteed mushrooms & fries, it was cooked beautifully and one of the best steaks he’s had. I loved my blackened shrimp tacos and added the chips & salsa for a full meal. The tortillas are handmade at the restaurant as is their salsa, it’s absolutely game-changing. So delicious. Our server was a delight, very professional plus friendly and accommodating. We will definitely return and highly recommend this wonderful local restaurant.

Doug was very attentive did a great job. They also had all kinds of great sides including sweet potato fries which were very good.
Definitely going to come again when we are in Muskegon. I like the ambiance in the old Bank building that they left rustic inside, very cool.

Very cool new addition to the Muskegon dining scene. 5 of us had Sunday brunch with Bloody Marys. 3 tried the Coulotte steak (lean sirloin cut). Great vibe in the restored bank building. Brunswick style bar is awesome. Our brand new waitress was very attentive.

Walked in and our feet stuck to the floor. Considered walking back out but figured we give it a shot. It was a neat old building, nice decor and the exposed bricks on the wall beautiful. The service was slow, especially for being fairly empty. Ordered a long Island iced tea and the shrimp cocktail. The drink tasted like sugar water. The shrimp came in the sauce. The menu online is not the same when we got there. The menu had 4 steaks available, not the 10 you see online.
