We were on our way to Grand Island, NE and I like to eat local so I found the M & I Weather Vane Cafe.
The prices looked good, well the prices are wrong. I was startled when I picked it up to go and it was forty dollars for two skillets, an egg, two eggs, and bacon. I would not have ordered some items if I knew the correct prices.
The skillet was very good. Everything was fresh, with potatoes eggs, ham, onions, and green peppers with cheese.
The bacon was crispy and good smoke flavor.
Service was good, but would like updated prices so I can order accordingly.

Amazing food. We were traveling on I80 and it was completely worth the extra 5 miles to travel too.
Adorable home country decor. Nice waitress staff very friendly all around. Wish I had taken a picture of our food but I did. However the Chicken Platter for breakfast was soooooo yummy.

The Weather Vane Cafe took care of us weary travelers. Jackie was an excellent server, getting all the details of our 7 person table’s order right. They even ask how well you want your bacon done. Clean and cozy, full of good vibes and breakfast classics.

We stopped by the Weather Vane Cafe for breakfast during our long road trip across the country.
We would definitely return. The food was fresh, expertly cooked and made with love. Our favorite being the sausage patties, what an incredible taste.
The service was pleasant along with the locals who welcomed us. The husband and wife team made us truly feel at home.

Anita, Iowa is hiding this gem and rightfully so.
Love the atmosphere, like time travel to a time when eating out was special.
Breakfast was amazing and the server should be cloned.
And did you see the size of that sausage patty!!
Well worth the short jaunt off I-80.

A wonderful and fun breakfast destination. You will not be disappointed with the options or the menu or the friendly service. An amazing small town diner that shouldn’t be missed. The hash browns were particularly delicious with crispy outsides and pillowy middles.

What an amazing and friendly cafe in Anita, IA. It must be the epicenter for Anita. The customers were even friendly. I searched for breakfast places, as I was driving on I-80, and Google Maps led me here. The irony is that I was in Iowa storm chasing, and I ate at a place called The Weather Vane. Please stop here on your travels. There’s some local Jesse James history near-by too.

Very cozy breakfast place in Anita downtown. The coffee was delicious, the server very friendly and all the customers seem to know each other (small-town). Totally worth the drive from the road!

My favorite breakfast spot. You can fly in and land on the city’s grass strip and walk 2 blocks to the Weather Vane.
