We visited this restaurant because it was conveniently located near our hotel, Canopy by Hilton. The warm breakfast sandwich on a croissant was quite enjoyable. It was served with fritas and aioli, and the aioli was incredibly spicy! I also tried the steak, which I ordered well-done, but unfortunately, I didn’t like it. If you’re staying in the hotel and looking for a quick lunch, this place might be worth a try. However, if you’re not staying there, it might not be worth the effort.

Slow service. Good cocktails. Tuna crisps were by far the best appetizer. The tomatoes in the burrata BLT had the texture of being in the fridge too long, which is acceptable at a diner but not at this price point.

Wayward is a good name for this restaurant. As in the service went wayward. Or the food order went wayward.

I ate here at least five times since I was staying at the Canopy Hilton. One of the hostesses is very nice and over the week she knew instinctively which tables I preferred. I’ve eaten here mid afternoon, breakfast, brunch, dinner, and lunch. I had free meal vouchers as a Hilton member.

The first time I ate here there was a food item missing from the burger. The staff was very accommodating and retrieved the missing ingredient.

I received an entrée and a salad at the same time even though I specifically asked for the salad first. I was told that since I had ordered from the bar menu, my instructions were ignored because all dishes are supposed to come out on the table at the same time.

The last time I visited, I ordered the smoked salmon Benedict, but the server brought out the ham Benedict, then claimed that she had entered the correct salmon order into the system and that the kitchen had erred. There was a 45 minute wait for the correct order to arrive. The restaurant the way of accommodating me was to charge me for only the price of the ham Benedict, which was a whopping two dollars savings. It was that that point that I found out from a different lady that my server had entered the order incorrectly.

The two people at the table next to me smirked when I had gotten the wrong order. However, they asked their server how they could use their meal vouchers and a server said she didn’t know anything about that, that she just worked at the restaurant. I know that you’re supposed to charge to the room to be able to have the hotel apply the meal credits to the meals, but I decided to say nothing. The two people ended up charging their breakfast individually on their respective credit cards.

The Wayward is a beautiful restaurant. The furniture is comfortable and the decoration is meticulous.

The stuffed French toast was inedible. The mixed green salad was fantastic. The meatballs were very good.

We are finishing up a conference in Philadelphia and looking for a restaurant on our way back to the hotel. We pick wayward since it was close to the hotel and it was open. I’m so happy we did this place has great ambience and service. Our waiter was Dontay. You are amazing at anticipatory service and kindness throughout the meal. Our food was perfect. I have the simply prepared menu, broccolini salmon and biggest Shishido pepper I’ve ever seen my wife had the chicken mayonnaise that had a huge pile of arugula and fresh olives. This is a great spot for clean, healthy fresh delicious food, fantastic service, and a very fair price. I recommend.

I got the avocado toast and asked for no onions/tomatoes & if it’s an issue to ask for modifications then state that to your customers? I received my avocado toast WITH onions and tomatoes & they just pretended to “make a new one” even saying it’s brand new when you can clearly see tomato leftover on my avocado. That would’ve been fine had the avocado not been literally black & the toast also inedibly burnt because now it was cold after they were pretending to make a new one. I wouldn’t really recommend did not eat it, the potatoes were fine. Restaurants cute maybe order something else.

The restaurant is beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. The manager and waitress were kind, pleasant and had great personalities. For a Family Sunday Brunch in mid-November, we came with a group of 18 and asked for 6 separate checks. The manager, Ms. Angel, insisted on creating 1 check for the kitchen and then separating them later. That was a mistake! The waitress and I then spent 15-20 mins going through the POS system separating the checks. It was a total waste of time and energy for both me and the waitress! Separate checks makes the most sense. Guests (me!) shouldn’t have to work so hard to enjoy a family meal. PLEASE ALLOW SEPARATE CHECKS BY TABLE OR HOUSEHOLD MOVING FORWARD. On another note, the food was average (the steak was delicious I’m told), and the alcoholic beverages were great. The kitchen missed a plate/meal but did not charge us. I wish there was a balance of breakfast and lunch offerings on the Brunch Menu as it skews more towards breakfast. I recommend this place for drinks and lite bites, nothing more. The art in the hotel is pretty awesome…worth checking out.

Came for happy hour. Had a great time. The interior is nicely designed. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The happy hour menu is reasonable with tasty snacks and good drinks. The salmon dip was amazing! Came with chunks of salmon and plenty to dip. The fries were thick and chunky which were great!

Celebrated my dad’s birthday here and it was so lovely. We made a reservation a day in advance and got to sit outside where the decor was beautiful and we felt a lot more spaced out. We went on a Tuesday so it wasn’t too crowded. The entrance is a little hidden so we walked past it at first. Everyone who helped us (hostess, server, people who brought out our food, etc) was so friendly. I ordered the wayward burger and it was cooked perfectly. The rest of my family got the salmon, the braised short ribs, and the duck confit and everyone loved their food. We also ordered the corn beignets which were crunchy and came with a tangy sauce. It is a little pricey so would recommend coming here to celebrate a special occasion. The ambiance is nice and the food is wonderful

Really not what was expected. First the oysters were poorly shucked, small shell pieces inside. Then the smoked tartare had an overwhelming butane taste that destroyed the meat. Next the bone marrow was served pre melted on stale bread- reminiscent of soggy oil bread. The kobe zabuton was grossly over salted (we ordered two for table both were same). One of the two lamb chops had a dish soap taste, rather odd and not too sure what the flavor was.

However, the long bone short rib was rather tasty. It was well seasoned and cooked, not overly fatty either. It was the only winner for the night. The manager was notified of the feedback and he offered a round of drinks, which we declined. No other concessions were made.

I would pass this place up until they put some serious work into improvements. I feel like they spent too much on decor and atmosphere and not enough on training the kitchen staff.

I believe these dishes would be considered good to someone that doesn’t know what a well prepared meal tastes like. If you are a “foodie”, skip this place. If you want a place to hang out and drink wine in a semi fancy atmosphere give it a try. The prices are entirely too high for the quality.

Side note, our waiter wore a mask- to each their own but when you spend several hundred dollars on a meal let’s get with the times. If you’re afraid of the virus, stay home.
