The Wayside Inn is a small locally owned, non smoking, Bar and Taproom. We are known for our fun atmosphere, outside seating areas, and great bar food. Stop in and enjoy a cold drink on our large deck or on our stamped concrete patio around the fire pit. Be sure to try 1 of our 25 wings flavors and delicious pizza’s! 5:30 on a Sunday. Said hello to the bartender and that I would be sitting on the deck. She looked like she didn’t want to deal with customers as she sat on the box behind the bar in the corner playing on her phone. I waited 15 minutes on the deck with no service….. Went inside and she or no one was anywhere to be found. The place only had two other tables. They weren’t busy. We shouldn’t have to beg for service at a restaurant that’s a 4.5 star rating. Guessing there were only two on staff and they didn’t feel like cooking tonight. Cuz she wasn’t happy to see me walk in the door. The look on her face said it all.

I’m an out of towner. I have a cabin in the area and visit monthly. Came to meet some locals I know who were here for the night. But for me, It’s A nice place. Clean, rowdy, prices are reasonable (at least compared to where I live). Service was good. I don’t really know who the bartender was (some say she was the owner or married to the owner) but she was fast, and with it. Was a pretty busy night and I didn’t have to wait long to get a drink. This is the last bar in Towanda I ventured into and it was the best. I’ll have to come back next time I’m in the area.

Great place. Clean premises, reasonably priced drinks, and personable service. Some good games there as well, both free and paid. Kind of a strange layout with the entrance and parking, and could use some signage, but nice overall.

Food is good service is average . Prices are the going rate for most Bars in the Area. No Smoking inside but you can get a table on the Deck and smoking is allowed on the deck. They have good entertainment once in a while.

Traveled from over 1 1/2 hours away only to find out BBQ is only on select days. Really liked the look of the bar but was disappointed at the overall “biker” crowd. Didn’t give me me good vibes when the sign on the door talks about not wearing cuts or colors in the bar. I’d give it another shot if the biker crowd fell off.

The Wayside, AKA “The Bucket”, is a hidden gem in the residential neighborhood of South Towanda. The current owners have put a lot of time and effort into updating this local landmark. In addition to remodeling the interior, they’ve added a large deck and fire pit area. Now it’s one of the few locations in Towanda with outdoor dining.
The Wayside is serving up quality bar food with options on the menu like cutlets, wings, burgers, sandwiches, and pizza. They have the largest variety of sauce options and some of the best wings around!
