Loved this hidden gem in Jamesport! My husband and I ordered the crab cakes as our appetizer- best crab cakes we ever had! Then for dinner he had the pork chop- which was excellent, and I got the whole branzino! We shared the rice, truffle fries & broccolini. We sat outside and brought our dog, it was great! Service was friendly and nice! 0 complaints!

Very curious as to how this restaurant scored a 4.6, and because we relied on the reviews, we were terribly disappointed. The service was scattered with one server covering the entire dining room – resulting in a lot of confusion. We were greeted twice before we were seated, asked twice for water preferences, ordered drinks, asked again about drinks – before the server realized she already spoke with us and stopped herself mid sentence. Minutes later, she came back and asked to us remind her of what we ordered!

French onion soup was bland (and came out before the drinks). Both the Branzino and skirt steak were overcooked. The broccolini was forgotten, came out late, and much too oily (this item was comped). Presentation was sloppy.

Everyone was very nice, but the execution was a failure all around. Also, very strange that an unreasonable number of dishes included chimichurri. Maybe that should have tipped us off. Would not recommend.

We absolutely love this place and will continue coming back. Went twice so far. Great hidden gem! It also comes with lodging if you need a place to stay. My Father in law said it was the best scallops he has ever had in his lifetime and he is a former Navy vet in his 90’s! We had the same server twice – Sofia and she is wonderful. Never had an issue. There are ramps and tables that allow wheelchair accessibility. Plenty of parking and a playground across the street for kids. Plenty of outdoor seating but we always sit in the main room. 3 sections, one are by entrance with hostess and fireplace. Like a lobby area. The main dining and then the back bar area.

My wife and I stayed the night here and had dinner for a date night without the kids. We were pleasantly surprised on this snowy night to find a vibrant yet charming atmosphere. The cottage we stayed in was clean and perfect. We went for dinner at the restaurant and the food was outrageous. My skirt steak was delicious and my wife (not a big steak eater) said her filet mignon was the best steak she ever had. After dinner we went into the next room which was the bar and found a great crowd listening to live sing along type music as the guitarist was taking requests. I met the owner James and he wife who bought us two rounds of drinks and were so grateful we were there. This whole experience was a homerun and a hidden gem. We will certainly be back!

First time here. It’s definitely a nice little hidden gem. My overall experience was just ok. The service was ok but could have been better, maybe because our waiter said he was new. We started with the bone marrow which was excellent although we asked to have it come out first to share but it ended up coming out after our appetizers. Then it took what seemed like an eternity for our dinners to come out. The lamb pops had an option between blue cheese or something else (can’t remember) but we were never asked which we wanted. It came out with blue cheese and my girlfriend doesn’t like it. They quickly took it back and resolved it without issue. Overall the food was excellent. The atmosphere, however, was terrible! They had live music in the bar which was nice but between that, the bar itself and the packed dining room it was so loud that we had to yell to each other just to have a conversation. The couple sitting next to us were just as upset about it too. Maybe if the owners put in some kind of sound absorbing materials like heavy curtains or rugs instead of everything being hardwood and maybe even a door separating the bar area then it wouldn’t be so bad. It really is a nice little place so we’ll definitely go back to try it again, hopefully next time it’s a little quieter.

We’ve at Watershed several times and each meal was a ten. Food is delicious and beautifully presented. Grateful they have already comprised tasty vegan options. Friendly staff and pretty environment. This is our new favorite restaurant.

One of the best finds in the area while visiting. I wanted something not very heavy after days of indulging in heavy handed cuisines. I came to this place with a friend and to my surprise the Tagliatelle with the pesto sauce was right on the spot and refreshing. The flavor was so delicious and not super greasy, just what I wanted. The truffle fries were delicious too. The service was attentive with friendly staff, and the drinks were great with an attentive bartender/ service staff. The owner was welcoming. I liked the energy and you could tell these people work hard. I am coming back before I leave town, and wish I was local and could come here more often.

At dinner on a Saturday Night noise level was intolerable. Neither my wife nor I could hear each other, so we had to sit there incommunicado waiting for service and food. We finally decided that we would just brown bag the food and go home to eat which we did (we live three blocks from the restaurant). Food was decent but overpriced. I note that – no bread service was included with the meal and that the Caesar salad we ordered had no anchovies, a cardinal sin as anchovies are a key ingredient that defines a Caesar salad. I was also taken aback by the unforeseen 20% service charge. If the charge is mandatory then it should just be included in the price of the items that you order, not as an add-on. In all we had great hopes that this restaurant would be our go-to- place for a convenient close-by high-quality restaurant, but alas that is not the case.

I recently dined at The Watershed in Jamesport, NY, and had a great experience overall. The food was fantastic. We started with the bone marrow, which was a first for me, and I really enjoyed it—though I don’t have anything to compare it to, I’d definitely try it again.

The mussels were also a hit, very flavorful and well-cooked. For my main course, I ordered the Cubano, and the pork was excellent—juicy and flavorful. Initially, the sandwich had too much mustard, which overpowered everything else, but the staff was quick to address it. They remade it perfectly, with the right balance of flavors. The bread was pressed to perfection, with just the right amount of crispiness and gooeyness.

Overall, a solid dining experience with attentive service. I’ll definitely be back to try more dishes!

My sister and I visited the Watershed Kitchen and Bar located inside the Bay Breeze Inn last week. We made a reservation over the phone, the woman was polite and kind. We were taken to our seats as soon as we arrived. The place was packed with an upbeat vibe. There was a bar (on the other side of the wall) with live music playing. It was nice to hear the music without it being too loud. The restaurant had a cozy feel. It was freezing outside and toasty warm inside. I ordered the white sangria, which was refreshing. The roasted chicken was one of the best I’ve had. The chicken was tender and juicy with a delicious truffle jus. The sweet potato purée was out of this world!!! My sister, ordered the Tagliatelle with pesto and shrimp, and said it was amazing. The waitress was very polite and checked on us a few times throughout the meal.

I highly recommend this restaurant! I will definitely be returning to try some of their other dishes. I look forward to visiting in the warmer months as there was a cute outdoor patio area with seating and fire pits.
