Considering Beefeater is supposed to be the top end of the Whitbread range of eateries, my experience of The Waterfront in Swansea was disappointing. I attended a birthday meal yesterday evening. The service was pretty slack. It seemed like the staff had got out of bed the wrong side that morning. I had to grab a bottle of ketchup from another table and go up to the bar to get a drink to have with my meal. I thought it was supposed to be table service? My vegan burger was presented with the bun dismantled. The so-called bread and butter pudding looked like it had been regurgitated and certainly didn’t resemble the illustration on the menu. We were required to leave the table by 10pm and told to move to the bar area. Considering it was a special occasion and the table and food has been booked in advance, the staff made us feel as if we were a nuisance and they didn’t once crack a smile. Despite the pre-order, there were food items that were not available. The prices were steep in comparison with Marston’s, for example, but the quality wasn’t any better. In fact the chips were far inferior to the days when they used to do triple cooked chunky chips with seasoning which were really delicious. The portion was very mean too. I think Beefeater could do much better.

Sent it back – they returned 15 minutes later when the rest of us had finished – with a new gish do they obviously could see the original one was burnt – why send it out in the first place ?
I had smothered chicken , no bacon !!! Basically could only taste the bbq sauce slightly / not visable , and the actual chicken , omg it was horrendous . As thin as a crisp Had obviously been. Poked earlier and warmed up . It was awful. My daughter had kids spag Bol which was all spaghetti, no bolognaise!!!
Totally let down .
Any test we had a voucher got 40% off , and the bill still came to £50 . Do would have been £90 .
I would have refused to pay for it .
Stay away from this place if you want tidy food .
People serving were nice , friendly and helpful, they need to change their chefs !! We were there Saturday evening about 8 .

Really nice place to eat, the food was great and good value too. The place itself had a great atmosphere and the staff were all incredibly friendly. The menu had a good amount of options and different deals too. Highly recommend!

We ate at this restaurant beside the Premier Inn after arriving in Swansea late at night. Since the place is called Beefeater, I expected them to specialize in steak. I ordered a beef fillet medium, but what I received was definitely not the right cut—it was extremely tough, impossible to chew, and I couldn’t even get my fork into it. I rarely complain about food, but this was really inedible, so I had to send it back.
They remade the dish, and this time it was the correct cut of meat, but unfortunately it came out almost well-done instead of medium. I didn’t want to send it back again, and at least it still tasted decent, but overall I was disappointed since technically both of my orders were wrong.
Service was polite and they did try to fix the mistake, but the experience wasn’t satisfying, especially from a steakhouse.

You know what you are getting. Its all portioned up for the chef to warm up and serve. Its boiling hot and fairly swift. The waiting staff seem bit cheesed off. They were pleasant.

Our food was beautiful! I had lasagna and my partner had the mushroom tower! There was a good selection of vegetarian meals to choose from on the menus. Our servers were also fantastic! Enthusiastic and smiling throughout! No complaints from us!

First & last time I’d go. Food is overpriced & standard (even with 40% off) food presentation is pretty poor too. Layout of tables were awful. Had to walk round tables to get by etc. We had preordered our food but a few of us found out their options weren’t avaliable when sat down. Some staff were fine. But found a few others seemed to hate their job & lacked basic customer service skills & politeness levels etc. Felt rushed & pushed to leave. Wouldn’t return.
