Service and atmosphere are amazing. Avocado toast could use a bit more pizzazz though. It’s a dry piece of bread with half an avocado and some sprinkle. Some greens, avocado oil and a lemon slice would really up it a level.

Stellar, mellow room, lots of seating and space to think and talk. Busy on Saturday, lightning service and beautiful food. Matcha, avocado and Everything spices on such a good soft toast. Crisp greens and a use your finger as a spoon vinaigrette.

This is my favorite place for coffee and chicken and waffles. The staff are great. Once we had a mentally ill person come in and was giving my table a hard time. They intervened and gave me my meal for free, which was unnecessary but very sweet. The staff are great. The coffee is beautiful. It has the best chicken and waffles in town.

ordered a bacon breakfast sandwich that cost me $8 and when i got it was a poorly scrambled egg and a strip of bacon broken in half on a cheap store bought english muffin. took them 30 minutes to get it out to me too.

Washburne uses yummy locally roasted beans from Farmer’s Union. Their coffee is good! I tried the iced latte with their housemate cardamom honey syrup.

I appreciate that they have GF and vegan pastries, but the selection was tiny (one thing) and the muffin itself was tiny, too, and smaller than a normal muffin. It was $3.25 and served to me cold. There was $1.50 charge for the date/almond milk and another $1 per syrup for my latte which is the highest I’ve seen anywhere.

Heads up for the uninitiated: This place can get a little crowded on the weekends because IT RULES. Worth the wait when necessary. Staff is rad. Sometimes I place a relatively “custom” breakfast sandwich order, and they’re super accommodating about it. They even let me do psycho stuff, like order my donut without any glaze on it! The atmosphere is great. The windows really allow this space to shine, and the decor is thoughtfully done.

The Washburne was a great spot for a morning coffee and treat. They offer full plate meals (breakfast and lunch), and if the smiles on the patrons’ faces were any indication, the food is tasty. My breakfast treat was tasty. There was a pleasant background taste of banana to complement the chocolate chips. It was too cookie to be a sweet bread, yet too substantial to be just a cookie.
