I found The Walk Up an easy go-to spot with only an 8-minute commute from my place. The website described that they are a Cocktail Club. Walk Up is not your typical bar. The Walk Up parking was effortless. I found a park on the street right in front of the building easily.

The drinks are good tasting and top-tier, offering specialty cocktails that seem like they may change from time to time. I ordered the mill and the French 75, both with Hendricks.
The mill from the cocktail list was amazing. The sage syrup was a perfect minty, musky taste, making the drink smell so refreshing. The sage syrup is a unique addition to my flavor palate.

I love that they have a variety of seating options. I saw a few accent Swivel Chairs that I know are comfortable. The bar chairs have backs that are essential for customers’ comfort, and it sends a welcome vibe that also determines how long I will stay and what I will spend. The seating is a winner in my book. The outside area is very nice!

The staff here are nice and quick with acknowledging customers. The Walk Up space is very clean and has plenty of plants, which is very nice. It gave me that zen vibe. We all know the calming effects of plants. Love this!
Music played lightly in the background, mostly instrumental to something I didn’t know but nice enough. I could easily have conversations without yelling. The Walk Up is a yes for me.
I look forward to seeing how it evolves, as this is only three months of establishment, according to the bartender I asked.

After a nice dinner in downtown, we wanted to get a little night cap. So we stumbled upon this little gem. It was a cool speak easy vibe but with some light and bustling ambiance.

They had plenty of comfortable seating and great decor with plants all over.

The drink selection was top notch and bartenders were friendly and could make custom drinks and mocktails if that’s your thing.

Very cool new spot, highly recommend.

This is a really nice space to hang with some friends. Very comfortable with options inside and out. Four beers on tap plus wine and canned beer selections. But the real attraction is the mixed drinks. Traditional selections and some house specials. Highly recommended trying it out.

The drinks and food were stellar. We ordered couple rounds of drinks and they all were very unique and bold. The duck wings, although not very heavy on meat, were full of flavor and so were the duck fat fries. The cheese bites starter was our favorite.

A Rustic spot without the rust!! Clean furniture set in flexible conversation arrangements with an easy “walk up” counter for ordering your favorite drink! Love the thoughtful touch of plants, too!

Cute little hidden gem with craft cocktails, awesome bartenders and a nice patio that will be great for summer. Inside feels clean and contemporary with good music playing, but quiet enough to have an actual conversation.

Great drinks, strong. Nice bartenders, quiet atmosphere. Snacks need be presented better. Providing items wrapped in store bought packages does not match the vibe of the bar

What a great addition to downtown Cary! My husband Andy and I stopped in to check it out, and were blown away by the cocktails! The menu is simple and currated to ensure every drink is top notch, and that there is something for everyone’s taste! I wish my phone did them more justice! The atmosphere is open yet cozy, with lots of great nooks to cozy up in with friends and a beverage. I highly recommend walking up for a drink or two! Cheers!

Disrespected and Targeted. This is the experience we had at the Walk Up. A relatively new bartender there (Jen from NY?) is rude, unfriendly, and bad for business. Before we even ordered our drinks and sat at the bar, she had an attitude with the customers in front of us. When my friend asked if she could put espresso beans in the espresso martini, her response was curt. Also, my friend didn’t like his drink and asked another bartender (James) to make it as he had made it the previous times we had visited there. She was upset at my friend for not liking it and unfortunately, she made it again.

So because of her bad attitude and bad service, my friend didn’t tip. When I paid for my tab, she threw the card at the counter like she was going to get a disease by hold it for more than a second. Before leaving, my friend very calmly and politely offered her feedback about his experience. She said he was being disrespectful by not tipping and right after she said that, she asked us to leave. We also explained this whole matter to another bartender (Dakota) who claimed to be the acting manager and he could only say we had to leave. Now, the whole time we were sitting there, we weren’t being loud, not causing disturbance, not drunk (between the 2 of us, had only 3-4 drinks total that night), or anything of that nature.

This is what happens when you don’t have a manager present at your establishment, hire people who are in the service industry but don’t like people, and keep staff who aren’t fans of customers who look and talk differently than almost all of the crowd there. It’s sad becuase I’ve brought groups of people here and won’t be doing so again. Yes, I will be talking to the actual manager about this because this is unacceptable behavior and needs to be called out.
