The Village Restaurant is one of our family’s go-to spots for celebrations! The food is absolutely amazing — always fresh, hearty, and tastes like home-cooked comfort. The portions are generous, and every dish we’ve tried has been delicious.

The staff are wonderful — friendly, attentive, and always one step ahead. For my sister’s recent birthday, they even treated her meal, which made the night extra special.

The decor is lovely too — they’ve updated it just enough to feel fresh and modern while keeping that warm, homey charm.

Whether you’re craving prime rib, fish and chips, stir-fry, salmon, or one of their always-great soups, there’s something for everyone.

It’s no wonder we keep coming back — great food, great people, and always a great time!

The Village Restaurant is a gem of a spot with a beautifully stylish interior that makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in.

What truly elevated the experience was our server, Ashley – an absolute spark of joy and kindness. She brought warmth and energy that made our visit memorable.

The food was overall good. The avocado toast, while fresh, was slightly under-toasted and had a piece of lettuce that unfortunately threw off the balance of flavor. The coffee also didn’t quite hit the mark for us. Because of that, we’d give the food and drink a solid 4 stars.

That said, the atmosphere and service—especially thanks to Ashley—are glowing 5 stars. We’ll definitely be back, and next time, we’ll try something new from the menu.

PS – I reviewed an out of date (3 years ago) menu picture online and unfortunately was expecting lower prices

If you’re looking for a local gem, look no further. I’ve always loved Sunday morning breakfast here, only problem being which dish to choose (I rotate between my 3 favourites: classic 2 eggs and bacon, avocado toast, or egg and bacon wrap…the spinach feta omelette is also a must try). Staff is super friendly, attentive, and welcoming, you definitely get the hometown feels. Make sure to arrive early because they get busy for good reason! Recently I’ve gone for dinner a few times, wish I had done so sooner!!! Highly recommend trying the onion rings and Macedonian salad to start. The chicken quesadilla will keep me coming back. Not many family run cozy spots left like this. Definitely recommend supporting this local Stoney Creek classic.

We booked for a small staff Christmas party and could not be happier with our choice. Mary and her team were amazing at making everyone feel welcome and engaged with. The food was fantastic, the staff were courteous, friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was great.

We had multiple dietary restrictions, including one coeliac, and all were accommodate without any issues.

Definitely would recommend for a function and my husband and I will be back on our own and with family and friends.

Thank so much for a great night!

Tamara is always amazingly friendly and efficient. My girlfriend and I go twice a year to celebrate our respective birthdays and have done this for many years. The food never disappoints, the restaurant is clean with a quaint atmosphere and the servers have always made our experience pleasant. Thank you!

My husband ordered the fish and chips and I had the eggs and sausage. Before ordering, I asked the hostess what type of oil they used as I have a bad reaction to canola oil. She asked the kitchen staff and they said canola, but in my case they said they would be sure to use olive oil . We reconfirmed this with our waitress and she said no problem. I even mentioned if they had any problem with my request that I would just get plain toast. She said no problem that she would confirm with the kitchen staff.

Not even 20 mins after eating I started getting really bad pains in my stomach and started vomiting, which is continuing as I write this. The only thing that causes this reaction for me is canola oil.

I am very angry as I mentioned this 3 times and was assured that they would not use canola on my food. On a positive note my husband said his fish and chips was good.

We recently had a work/Christmas party at The Village in downtown Stoney Creek. We were a party of 15+. Our server Tamara handled the entire event alone. She was attentive and professional. The food and drinks were out on time and she handled with ease. Her attention to detail was outstanding. Thank you to Tamara and The Village. We will definitely be back!!

I’m fairly new to Hamilton, but The Village is already a favourite. The servers are extremely friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is relaxed and homey. No one rushes you and the other diners are open to conversations. Oh, yes: The menu is extensive and the food never disappoints.

I was really craving fish and chips and was kinda disappointed. I look for two things in fish and chips: fresh, crispy batter on the fish, and fresh fries. For $20 for the meal, having soggy, squishy fish and cheap frozen fries is crappy. Fruit flies were also around my face while I ate. I could hear to cooks swearing about their job in the back too… server was nice, but nice enough to make me want to come back here.

A ridiculously bad experience Sunday before thanksgiving. We had 630 reservation. 2 of party of 10 arrived early and waited 45 minutes for a drink. Service was non attentive and slow . Turtles would have been faster. We got drinks .. I just had coffee and was never offered refill. After 45 minutes after arrival they took food order … 2 of 4 specials were no longer available ( the ones my spouse and bday lady wanted)… guess it’s too hard to erase chalkboard. Ordered fish tacos …. We got our food 75 minutes after arriving … mine came cold and I sent back. We had to find a server to return it to as none were close. 15 minutes later one that was hot arrived… they forgot Cole slaw but brought it within 5 minutes. Forgot my wife’s dessert that came with meal. We had to ask for that. Our party was last to leave due to the length of time to serve 9 adults and one child. Only thing they were prompt about was bill. Never asked whether those of us who did not get dessert wanted dessert. I will never return. There are far better places nearby.
