Food is amazing

The potato wedges are fantastic. Anymore, even fast food, which is supposed to be cheap, can cost over $10 per person, and don’t get me wrong, I like fast food as much as the next guy, every once and a while. This place has prices based on weight. Food is excellent, the mixed veggies, the ham slices, potato wedges, etc. Also, this is fresh homemade food, for only a bit more than fast food.

The store is awesome, I mean, they have giant packages of hot dogs… *Respect*
I❤️

The fresh gummies are on a whole new level… The mango ones were probably my favorite, now they can only be found in the multi flavor pack, but that’s ok, because all of their gummy bears are good. 100% RECOMMEND…

******ONLY TAKE THE FOOD THAT YOY ARE GOING TO EAT****** You can go back for more… You are paying by weight, so don’t get to much food. Also, tip, if you are eating in at the Cafe, don’t buy large drink, you can get refills, so get a small.

And ALWAYS save room for ice cream

Enjoyed the hot food bar. Stuffing and chicken tenders were excellent. So was the sticky bun cake from the cold bar. Apple cider float for the car ride, too!

***edited***The fried chicken was recommended so we thought we would try it. It was very good! My problem was pricing. In one container I had a good size portion of meatloaf, corn bake, mac& cheese, and mashed potatoes with gravy…that cost a little over $13…so far so good. The other container was a square of mashed potatoes and gravy, a square of corn bake and then 2 chicken thighs…that cost $23!!! I had also bought some grocery items, and was in a hurry…my fault for not questioning right away. Didn’t notice it til I was putting the receipt in the checkbook. The food was good, but check your receipts…that was the most expensive chicken dinner I have ever had. FYI…it weighed less than the meatloaf.
I appreciate your response. But to be clear, I had more mashed potatoes and corn bake with the meatloaf AND Mac & cheese. I believe the cashier weighed the meatloaf and priced it. Then placed the chicken on top as she was talking and weighed it together. Mistakes can happen. The meatloaf container was obviously heavier. At $6.99 a pound it would have weighed approx 3.2857 pounds. I ask you to take your container and fill one small square with mashed potatoes and gravy, the other square with corn bake and 2 thighs. The squares were filled just above the top. Now weigh it…I bet it comes out to about $10 – $11. I was trying to be nice in my review as the food was good. However, this was not my mistake. I wish I would have seen this before leaving…I would have politely asked for it to be weighed again.

Nice family owned grocery store. Great weekly specials at the deli counter— got ham for $4/lb and cheese for $3/lb. Clean and organized. Super friendly and helpful staff. Recommend for sure!

I was in town to get service at Kissell Motorsport. We finished up. They referred me to “The Pantry”, for lunch.
Said it was Excellent.
I was surprised it was a Large grocery store. But to the far left end of the Bldg. There is a single glass door with a sign above it marked “Cafe”

Parked, walked in to open booths, tables and sitting.

Turn right and there are two serving islands, take a Large
or smaller container for your selections. I chose the Fried Chicken portions. Scallop potatoes and ham. Mixed
warm veggies. Choice of bottle
beverage in the market area in open cooler. I used their carry tray as I was eating there. They have fountain also by ice cream and check out counter.
You hand your containers to the clerk, she weights them and your price is totalled.

My plate, container was full.
Plus the bottle. Total was $15.00. The food was Excellent . Chicken was moist, crisp, I had 4 Lg pieces to carry out. Scallops and Veggie was excellent. I had a bottle of cold Pepsi. Seating was clean and neat. Finish, trash by door. Place tray in container.
Containers trash. With plastic wear. I asked Customers and Staff for the order of service.

Everyone was very helpful and
I got adjusted to the flow. All the folks were nice. Thanks…p

I recently made a purchase which I was not satisfied with. I expressed my concerns to the staff and they quickly remedied the problem to my satisfaction. This is the best place I have ever found to purchase fresh meat in bulk.

If you ever find yourself in Tyrone, I highly suggest eating at The Village Pantry! They have the best food in the area and the options are amazing! The buffet style is genius and The Village Pantry definitely filled a void in the area. My favorites are the meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy. The fried chicken with chicken gravy is also fantastic. They also have great veggies. The green beans and corn are always tasty. It’s also one of the only restaurants in the area the serve the Pennsylvania classic : ” Pickled Eggs”. The restaurant, bathroom and grocery store are always clean and orderly. The staff is always super nice. I’ve been here many, many times since they opened and I’ve always enjoyed my meal and shopping afterwards. Next time you’re passing through, stop and check this place out!

One of my favorite places in town to eat for sure. The hot food bar is great, the salad bar is great and it’s nice being able to grab some groceries while there also.
