Nestled in the heart of Lindenhurst, the Village Lanterne is located at 155 North Wellwood Ave. Upon entering, you will be welcomed with warm Schwarzwalder decor, 20 unique taps of European styled beer, and home cooked styled meals that will remind you of your Oma’s cooking! We host a wide range of entertainment nightly, so we strongly suggest reservations are made in advance. As well as a expansive dining menu and massive new pub/bar area, we also have a large upstairs dining room to host private events and larger seatings. In the spring and summer months, expect our beer garden to be open and ready to welcome you for a ice cold beer and traditional German fare. All desserts are also made on premises! We look forward to hosting you!

The atmosphere and vibe here is incredible. The decor makes you feel like you’ve been transported from Long Island to a local restaurant in Germany. The live band is great and made the dining experience so much more enjoyable.
Our party was there for dinner and the server did warn us that the wait time was going to be over an hour. So be warned if you plan to dine here on a busy weekend night. Plan to do some waiting. The food was great once it arrived. Overall, everyone had a very pleasant time. If you’re craving for German food or a spot for some good food and a lively atmosphere then would recommend!

The Village Lanterne is a great spot for authentic German food. Everything we had was fresh and absolutely delicious, and the menu offers plenty of food and drink options to choose from, so there’s something for everyone.
One of the coolest parts of this place is the décor inside. The traditional German-style decorations really stand out and make the atmosphere feel warm and unique. It adds a lot to the overall experience and makes it a fun place to sit and enjoy a meal.
The staff were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, especially when it came to explaining the menu. This place does get busy, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation. Parking in the village can also be a little tough at times. Overall, it’s a must-try and well worth the visit.

Had my birthday here with my kids and it was amazing. The people who were at the tables near us were all talking to me and each other. It was so inviting and like a community. Olivia was our waitress and she was fantastic!
Great ambiance, live music was playing. They have an open mic on Mondays and there were Jim Croce songs, George Harrison, some stones and more.
The food was very German. My kids schplit a schnitzel and they loved it with their spaetzle. I had the schwab dinner and I was super happy with it. The whole thing was amazing. See my pics

My first time experiencing this wonderful place. Great beer selection. Full menu with a wide variety of dishes. Big flavorful servings. A wonderful atmosphere. This was my first time, but certainly not my last. Definitely a place worth trying!

You’ve gotta love The Village Lanterne! It’s cozy atmosphere is bolstered thanks to the decor which truly sets the tone in an amazing way. Did I mention the food is exceptional? It’s always a treat dining here, and it NEVER disappoints.

Place is nice. Food is ok. I understand it’s a restaurant with a bar but the waitress looked at us funny when we asked what non alcoholic drinks she had. Bus boys walk around and don’t do much and I don’t know if the lady was alone tonight or what but service took forever to the point where we ditched desserts.

Food was absolutely fantastic, The atmosphere is wonderful and our waitress was super friendly. Unfortunately it seemed like she was stretched across way too many tables and the wait for everything was much longer than it should have been. Regardless, I’ll assume this is a one time hiccup and will absolutely be back.
