I was very disappointed with this location. Me and my family went there after I read the reviews. We thought it was good but it wasn’t. We ordered the clam chowder and it was horrible. It was watery and so much oil floating on top. I have never seen that. I was not happy we threw away $40 on just chowder – it was not good. I ordered fish and chips, the fish was ok but the fries were soggy and lots of oil. The waitress never offered to give us more drinks, never was a refill. Not sure if it was because it was toward the end of the night but I was disappointed especially with the clam chowder.

It doesn’t matter whether I come alone or with a group of people, I have noticed that the food is always consistently great. Always top notch and served with a smile. The coleslaw is perfectly chilled and crunchy. Prime rib always tender and juicy. The village inn restaurant is my “go to” for my seafood fix.

Lovely atmosphere. Quiet and peaceful and yet alive. Refreshing. Love the decor!
Service is excellent – accurate, timely, pleasant.
Food is excellent – good variety to choose from, cooked properly, appealing appearance, good portions.

The food at the Village is awesome. Really, really love the fried clams and seafood chowder. The wait staff are friendly and professional. Welcoming. The atmosphere, at least in the bar area where my husband likes to sit, is very dark and dated. That’s my only criticism. The rest of the place is brighter and nice. We have never gotten a bad meal there. We love The Village.

This is an older, local seafood restaurant with a bar. If you want some local food and service, that’s what you’ll find. Brussel sprouts app was good but a bit small, fisherman’s platter was good sized, comes with the smaller shrimp and medium sized scallops (sea, not bay), healthy serving of fried clams, pick your breading type (with bellies, but you can order the fake ones too). Lobster roll is reasonably priced but not the ginormous type. O rings, chowder, steak tips, steamers, etc.. Then see the rest of the menu, says they have prime rib – I’d return if there wasn’t a big wait (which I’m guessing there could be in-season or on wrekends).
Wait staff was friendly enough, bar had some locals, wasn’t busy mid-week, dining room breaks down as soon as it can.

On December the 13th,my husband and I went out to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary at the village inn restaurant. I ordered the mini shore dinner and my husband ordered the mates seafood plate, the atmosphere was nice, not too many people,we waited a bit for our food,it finally came. The cole slaw was way too watery,my husband was suppose to have fried clams and there was nothing in the batter,if there was it was tiny! When I went to take a drink from my drink, there was a piece of paper in there, like the top of a sugar packet. When I asked for a piece of lemon, the waitress looked at me like I was crazy and charged us .75 for two small pieces of lemon. For paying over $ 90 for lunch,I expected much better than what we got! We will not ever go to this place again! Try it once years ago and got bad serve,we tried it again. We won’t ever go back to that place again!!!

4 turkey dinners. Missing food on plate. Not a complainer and it was lunchtime so I didn’t really need it but….mom wanted a little more gravy but that was going to be an issue so she didn’t push it. Waitress didn’t want to be there. No smile and poor attitude but again I’m laid back even though it’s Thanksgiving day. I still left a decent tip but not the usual 50 percent that I leave on a holiday. Attitude is everything. You don’t have to smile but it cost you $$$

I’ve driven by this place for years and my only regret is not stopping in sooner.
Food was incredible. My chocolate cocktail was the best one I’ve had yet.
Very homey feel to the restaurant. We had a sweet 16 gathering here an we had our own room! Servers were nice an no hiccups with anyone’s food or drinks.
