Delicious food, great service, and lively and upbeat atmosphere. They have a bakery, brewery, and gift shop also. The beers were some of the best I’ve tried in the area. And the big pretzel was the best one I’ve ever had.

We’ve given this place two chances now and the second chance was definitely a mistake.

The food is terrible, I mean horrible.
SALT, more SALT, extra SALTY, with a side of SALT.
On top of that the prices are insane, and the kitchen isn’t even functional- so, for food truck level food we cannot leave here without spending at least $60.00 for 2 people.
The service- YIKES, I cannot even get into what all went wrong both times.
We were waiting patiently to try this place hoping they’d eventually open back up and I’m so disappointed with the result.. the vibe, the atmosphere, and the restaurant building itself is beautiful and has so much potential to be great.

The family had a camping trip at Stone Mountain and decided to visit the local German restaurant, we found The Village Corner and it was simply amazing in addition to our service and food was excellent. Thank you for a great meal and experience.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed by this place. I had driven past many times going to hike Stone Mountain, and was eager to visit once they had re-opened.
There was a decent wait to be seated on what appeared to be a slow-ish Saturday at lunch. The entrance is also quite cramped for guests waiting to be seated. I was surprised to need to wait so long for how busy the restaurant appeared not to be.
The atmosphere was much more like a plain restaurant serving German food and beer than it felt like an authentic German Biergarten. Sure there’s plenty of German kitsch on the walls, but it seemed more like a TGI Fridays than a real Bavarian place. I felt compelled to have one beer while waiting on my lunch before leaving promptly after consumption of both. Service was fine, but I wouldn’t call it outstanding.
The food was good, but I was quite surprised that it’s prepared in an outdoor food truck versus a restaurant kitchen. Perhaps that has something to do with their recent closure due to fire? The pretzel was indeed good, and I believe I had a bratwurst plate for my main. The sausages were decent, potato salad was nothing to write home about, and the sauerkraut was kinda lackluster. Portion sizes were definitely more German than American.
The beer is made on site, and was pretty good. However, I was really hoping they would have some real German brands on tap, Weihenstephaner Vitus is what I really wanted. Also the bar isn’t much of a real bar. As I recall it had very limited seating, and wasn’t very inviting.
I might try this place again to confirm my opinions, but given my critiques I may also just pass on it next time I’m on way home from doing the Stone Mountain hike.
In all fairness I’m comparing this place to a Biergarten in Redwood City, CA called Gourmet Haus Staudt, which to me is the gold standard for American Biergartens. If you’re ever in the Bay Area I highly recommend visiting.

TLDR: SALTY,FLAVORLESS, POOR SERVICE,PAPER PLATES/PLASTIC CUPS
We got seated pretty quickly for being on a Saturday around 5pm. But as far as waiting for the Waitress and our food to come out…. well…thats a different story…and not a good one. There were 4 of us who all ordered different food items. The food came out on flimsy paper plates and our water was in plastic cups. The sausage plate , the meat was very lean and good. Weiner schnitzel meal, there was more breading than the pork, BUT.. the Schnitzel sandwich spaetzle… the bun was so salty and loaded with butter(?) when they toasted it and the spaetzle was tasteless. The tavern burger, I removed the bun and cut up the burger and took a bite. I immediately spit it out. This was loaded with salt and seasonings. Waitress never came by to see how we were doing. I ended up flagging her down and told her about the burger and to remove it. She did ask if I wanted anything else. But after tasting everyone’s, I chose not to. Sometime went by…no Waitress to refill our waters and again, I had to flag her down again for our bill. She came over and told us that the charge for the burger was removed and handed our bill and left immediately. We waited….again…. but this time, I did tell hubby to just go up to the front and pay it, and you know what? She never came back ……. The manager never came out.
The table next to us had a different waiter… I seen him attending to them alot.. I felt jealous.. lol
Here I am, writing this up and just now noticed that they charged us for hot water.. We told her that we needed it to warm up the baby’s food.

Cozy, charming, and delicious! The German Restaurant had a fire in 2023, but they are open again (Dec 2025) with a limited menu. The food is very buttery and will stick to you for a while, so it’s a nice spot to go if you’re looking for serious satisfaction.
Today I enjoyed the tavern cheeseburger with spätzle instead of French fries, and it was delicious, but my coworkers might object to the high onion content of the meal. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting together and we found it was a pleasantly noisy atmosphere without overwhelming our ability to have a conversation. The staff was very friendly and prompt with their service.
Glad they are back, and I look forward to returning!

Only the 2nd time being here. This was for lunch. Last time was for dinner, 7yrs ago – our son’s 18th birthday. I think they may be renovating the kitchen. Everything was cooked from what may be a food truck type of trailer to the far side of the dining room. Paper plates and such also. Not as good as the 1st time there. But it wasn’t bad either.

Ample seating inside, with a combination of booths and tables. We ordered the Spaetzle, Schnitzel and sausage. The sausage was delicious, lightly flavoured and cooked just right. The Schnitzel was ok and the Spaetzle was good, even if we ordered it as a starter and received it after our main courses (after we asked for it again).
