We visited the Village Bakery & Cafe for lunch and had the most pleasant experience. The atmosphere was cozy with that small town feel. The menu variety was absolutely impressive. We ordered the Fried Green Tomato Club with Pimento Cheese and the Monte Cristo Sandwich, which was the best decision. They also have a bakery attached where we ordered a couple of pastries to-go. Their coffee & specialty coffee menu was diverse, and we look forward to visiting again soon.

Amanda was an excellent server! We shared a breakfast order and she brought it out divided between two plates already! We share often but have never had anyone do this. Excellent! The food was delicious and it was a large portion – felt like two orders! Morning Special – two eggs. Very enjoyable!

The bakery produces the most marvelous pastries and bread! They are pricey but you can taste the difference in first class ingredients. Not dressed-up in any way, the cafe has a cozy home-town feeling. Breakfast prices are reasonable and my personal favorite is the Reuben sandwich for lunch which I would definitely drive out of my way for any day! Delicious! I’ve been there 4 times and service has been good each time.

Years have come and gone and the Village Bakery and Cafe has remained a pillar of commerce on the square in Pendleton. Both breakfast and lunch are great with many options. I challenge anyone to find a better fresh baked sourdough in the area.
A very thankful shout out to Maddie P. for taking care of us for breakfast and treating my daughter with courtesy, respect, and genuine kindness.
For the hungriest of the hungry, come here for Sunday brunch. If you leave hungry it’s 100% your own doing. The shrimp and grits are off the charts.

It was a bit loud and noisy for my tastes, but nothing that can’t be remedied by choosing a quieter time to go. Staff was friendly and helpful. We got a baguette, an apple turnover, a lemon Danish, and a loaf of stollen. We also ordered 2 chai lattes and a caramel latte.
My husband reports that the stollen is the best he’s ever had. My roommate reported that the apple turnover was excellent, and I can also report that the lemon Danish was fantastic. The chai lattes were the best we’ve ever had, as was the caramel latte. We’ll definitely be back the next time that we visit. Highly recommend going here!

We try to go by when we are in town. Always fun to get a little treat. We got canollis and they hit the spot. The staff was very nice and if you want a meal just walk next door. We have not tried that yet but maybe on the next trip.

It takes me forever to decide what to order here because everything sounds so good. I haven’t ordered anything I didn’t like yet, thus prolonging the process–do I repeat order or try the other thing I was eyeing last time? I highly recommend going with a generous group you trust so you can strategically order all the things and share. It’s a “must stop” when we’re in the area visiting family. We usually come the morning of our departure with happy bellies, full hearts, special seasonal lattes and a box full of pastries and cookies for the road. Our bakery order usually includes an orange scone, a cinnamon roll, a cherry Danish, and then a few other things–like the cafe, it’s ALL been good. One of those rare places where no matter what you get, you can’t go wrong! The service is friendly, but just be realistic that this place has a major local draw, and you may have a wait for a table and slower service if you decide to come during the peak times. This isn’t a quick stop, because it’s such a good place to meet and visit with your fellow diners.

The food is very good and it’s a cute place. Bad rating is solely to bring attention to the absurdity that they stop servicing breakfast at 10:45AM, even on Saturdays. Meanwhile, nearby places like Wake and Bake and Brews at the Square are able to serve breakfast all day. Not sure why Village insists on imposing a McDonald’s style breakfast schedule on themselves.

One of my favorite brunch spots. Sunday brunch is incredible with Mediterranean and American Southern favorites. Weekday breakfast and lunch menu is great, I absolutely love the fried green tomato club sandwich and the hand breaded chicken tender basket with slaw. All of their pastries are amazing . My favorites are the cinnamon meltaway, pecan swirl, and chocolate gooey. I usually grab some pastries to go and love to walk around the square.
