I like it. A great hometown bar with a limited menu. The beer was cold and the service friendly. Today was Game Day in a college town. Watching football and getting out of the cold. I sat at the bar felt very welcomed.

Can’t argue with my first review. Been here 3 times now.

Had The Mariner, delicious!

First, this is NOT an appropriate place for kids, and you’ll be asked to leave if you bring them, this is an old style BAR. Adults only.

My burger was delicious and the staff was friendly! Sorry I started eating it first. Greasy and great! Full of beef and gluten.

If you love nostalgia and don’t mind the smell of old smoke and a hint of pee, scratched paint and air vents hanging from straps, you’ll love this place. It’s like going back to the 60s or 70s!

Be sure to enjoy the vintage Popeye sign from the 50’s advertising a hamburger for 10¢!

If not you probably should avoid it.

This place leans into letting people self-select to not be here. But in my opinion that just means it has an unapologetic personality.

I am NOT recommending this place for the sub 40 crowd, you probably won’t like it and the regular won’t feel bad about that. If you don’t mind stepping out of your comfort zone in a big way, try it. If not they won’t miss you.

The View is quickly becoming one of our favorite spots in South Bend. Service is quick and very friendly, and the atmosphere is unmatched. Great place to watch football, get a quick bite to eat, or grab a drink with friends. Truly cannot recommend this place enough!

Great burger and onion rings. When you meal comes out on a paper plate good things happen. Cool dive bar with a interesting atmosphere. Fun to check out the old sporting/concert tickets on the bar. Great bartender and very attentive

We love this hole in the wall place. This is our second time here. We came 2 years ago and decided to come back cause the food and atmosphere is amazing before a ND game. We will be back in 2 years. Best burger by far.

The View I experienced was on the walk across the bridge, to this dive-y corner bar, seeing the “falls” lit up green prior to St. Paddy’s. Not much of a view once there, of course it was evening, so who knows! There didn’t appear to be any outdoor seating.

I sat at the bar, where my next view was Twister on TV, which is A-OK with me!

No NA beer option was pretty disappointing, but apparently par for the course in South Bend.

After what seemed like an awfully long wait for a burger, considering the size of the crowd, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Homicide Burger, especially for the price! Nice spiciness from the jalapenos (canned, not fresh though) and pepper jack cheese with the smokiness of the bacon doin’ it’s thing. The fries were a perfect compliment; nice and crispy, not soggy.

If I find myself in SB in the mood for a walk over the water, it would be worth another stop.

We stopped by on our way through. The atmosphere was great and the food did NOT disappoint. I would come back again just for the onion rings alone. Waitress was cute as a button. 10/10 would stop here again!

Stopped in for a quick bite and beer.
Got the Gulyas and the meat was tender. Surprised at how filling it was for $7.50.
Dive bar vibes all the way but super friendly.

I was told this little hole in the wall had some of the best burgers ever. I was skeptical to begin with, but as we walked up to the place I figured the recommendation was a joke. It looks just like any other dive bar. HOWEVER, I was especially impressed with our server’s knowledge, passion, and overall good vibes. Now, on to the “best burgers ever”. The burger was exceptional. Well above my expectation. We went in the early afternoon so I can’t speak on the crowd during rushes but my experience was top notch!!!
