I ordered a takeaway for collection and when I arrived it wasn’t ready due to computer not printing order but while I waited they gave me a complimentary drink and my son some chocolates.
The food was amazing great flavour and taste not oily and really hit the spot, we ordered a few starters, mains and naan. All of it was great and they were good size portions will definitely be visiting here again. Really annoyed the food.

We had the pleasure of dining at The Viceroy Restaurant last night, and it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was welcoming and elegant, with a warm festive touch that made the evening feel special.
The staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel completely at ease. Service was prompt without ever feeling rushed, and every interaction carried a genuine smile.
The food was simply amazing — beautifully presented, full of flavour, and cooked to perfection. Each dish was rich in authentic spices yet balanced so well that it felt both comforting and exciting. From starters to mains, everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared.

I gave The Viceroy Derby the opportunity to resolve this privately, but after receiving no reply at all, I’m posting my honest experience. Manners cost nothing, and basic customer service should not be too much to expect.
Ordered on Saturday, 8th November at 19:25 with a promised delivery time of 20:25. After chasing at 20:45, I was told the food was “on the way” with no apology. It finally arrived at 21:15, almost two hours after ordering.
The driver didn’t speak, didn’t apologise, and simply thrust the bag into my hands. The food itself was barely warm and had to be reheated, which obviously ruined the taste and experience. A real shame because the dishes were actually good, but the service and attitude completely undermined it.
I contacted The Viceroy directly to give them a chance to put things right, but they never bothered to respond. Very disappointing. I won’t be ordering again unless the customer service improves significantly.

After a slight misunderstanding from one of the waiters on whether or not the Summer Sizzlers were dine-in or takeaway, this was immediately sorted out by the manager and from then on we had great service. The seafood sizzler was AMAZING! And excellent value for £35 between two people for 6 or 7 types of fish/seafood, naan, chips, salad and curry sauce. There was a good atmosphere as there was decent a number of diners for a Monday night. We’ll be back very soon!

Our first visit to The Viceroy was an excellent experience from beginning to end. We ordered Paneer Makhani, Dal Makhani, a refreshing lemonade , and a comforting cup of tea ☕. Each dish was rich, well-prepared, and full of flavour .
What made our evening truly memorable was the service. The male waiter who looked after us was exceptionally kind, patient, and attentive . As a group of profoundly Deaf customers, clear communication is very important to us, and his gestures and pointing were thoughtful, respectful, and easy to follow . This made us feel comfortable and genuinely welcomed.
The combination of delicious food and outstanding service has left a lasting impression. We will certainly return for future special occasions and would recommend The Viceroy to anyone looking for both quality dining and genuine hospitality.

The service was on point, food came out piping hot and was served in an acceptable time. The waiters/waitresses were very professional and catered to all put needs. Husband is gluten free and that wasn’t a problem. Thanks guys
