This was one of the best Indian meals we’ve had. We dined on a Saturday night and were quickly seated and served. Very interesting array of dishes and we tried the Thawa and Sylheti. Absolutely superb. Would thoroughly recommend with friendly and hospitable staff.

My partner and I have used the Viceroy for years. Last night we got a takeaway. We ordered Chicken Tikka Jaipur & Balti Chicken with rice and naan’s. The food was outstanding. Really really delicious. The chicken in both dishes was fresh and tender. We both said this morning how nice it was. Never get a bad meal or service. Definitely the best in Carlisle.

Terrible experience overall. The food was extremely cheap in quality and tasted bad, almost inedible. Ingredients felt low-grade, poorly cooked, and lacked any freshness or flavor. Portions were disappointing for the price, and the service was slow and careless. The place did not meet even basic standards. I would strongly advise avoiding this restaurant.

I go for my meals The Viceroy my favourite food is chicken tikka rice I have a full chicken on all the salad trimmings to go with it my favourite pudding banana fitter when you are eating something hot make sure you got tea with no sugar cools you down I like red hot windaroo I know the manager I know all the staff the great people well you get a good crack that’s that’s all I can tell you the rest is my secret ok everyone

Update review. I go once a year to see if its any better. Group of 5 this time. Ordered a thawa which is essentially just a balti served on a hot iron plate. It was bright red and caked in food colouring. Not very flavoursome. In fact most of the dishes on our table were caked in food colouring. Portion size is small too, and it’s not the cheapest of places.

Found this lovely restaurant on our little weekend away and what exceptional place this is. Food is absolutely spot on don’t know why some people have given a bad review as there is nothing wrong with the food or the staff at all. Very welcoming an courteous staff can’t complain at all… if i was from around here this would be my go to place for sure
