My wife had been to the Velvet Ditch with friends and said that the food was great, so we went back with our daughter, and the food and experience were excellent.
The entire staff was friendly and attentive. They worked as a team to take care of the tables, so we were not left looking for our waiter because we were checked on frequently. We spoke to Josh the most, and he was extremely helpful. I don’t enjoy a lot of spice, and he doesn’t either, so he was able to advise if the dish was in my tolerance.
I got the Catfish with Grits and Etoufee, my wife ordered the Sausage Sandwich with Fries, and my daughter got the Lobster Mac and Cheese. Everything was excellent and described well by Josh.
The pricing felt fair for what we received, and two of us brought home leftovers, so it really felt like a good deal. We went a little earlier in the evening, so it felt more like a restaurant than a bar. We will go back and I highly recommend you go try it for yourself.

Stopped in for some drinks and wound up trying the Ro-Wings (breaded) in Nashville Hot, Garlic Parm, and Jerk, big and good…we just ordered too much. Loved they have 30A on tap, but their liquor selection and drinks looked good also for next time. Will be back to try out more of their menu.

Finally got to spend some time here on a Sunday. Watched the Saints game. Really cool vibe and tons of TVs to see your favorite game. Hang out outside or inside. We chose to eat and drink at the bar. When we got inside we were having trouble finding a spot but one of the staff came up and asked us what we needed and they found a way to get us in at the bar by moving one of the chairs to where there were no 2 seats together. Drinks were so delicious. We ordered different type of martinis and ended up getting a couple of appetizers. Service was excellent, atmosphere was super nice and the place is decorated in a pleasing and yet elegant way. Definitely will go back and have another Sunday Funday there.

Go to the velvet ditch. Just go. Everyone is really nice here, the bar staff, the wait staff, everyone. The owner Jared is a great guy. My main recommendation is the slushies. You really cannot go wrong here with anything here honestly. It feels like the grove with a giant bar outside and a luxury sports bar inside.

His attention to detail was outstanding—our drinks were always full, the food came out quickly, and he made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Eli was not only professional but also genuinely friendly, which made the service feel personal and warm. It’s rare to come across a waiter who goes above and beyond like he did, and it truly made the evening special. Incredible service all around—we’ll definitely be coming back and asking for Eli!
