I started with the tuna tartare, which was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. My main course was the steak frites; while the fries were great, the steak itself was a bit chewy and lacked flavor, even though it was cooked medium rare. For dessert, the sorbet was light and refreshing.
Service was very good and the staff were friendly and attentive. The garden setting is beautiful and makes for a lovely dining experience. Overall, it was a pleasant evening, though I might explore other menu options next time.
Butternut squash risotto with roasted chestnuts, sage, and mushrooms: I appreciated the roasting on the squash pieces, but I think some citrus might have been nice to amplify the flavors. And the rice was a little more al dente than I prefer.
The hot buttered rum, with banana and walnut butter, was a very fun, if oddly gritty, choice, thanks to the nuts being chopped into the butter.
Would definitely try again, but maybe stick to the regular menu just to get the effect of a full entree.
Highly recommend for a romantic dinner and or a customer event.
We were blown away!
For everything that it is, I would give it 5 stars.
The rest of the food was excellent. Very fresh oysters (separate $27 charge for half dozen). The lobster was of good size perfectly cooked accompanied with corn sausage and potato. And a little tart for desert. Once a year, it is a very good treat. The service was also excellent.
