The food was good and restaurant was cute. The girl that waited on us was super friendly and helpful.
If you haven’t eaten at a Varsity, I would recommend it for the experience.

I come into Georgia once a year.
I eat The Varsity as much as I can.
Id like to see the wonderful town of Rome to pick up some of the awesome vibes of the original in Atlanta.
Lets bring the SPIRIT of the store to every one that is opened from shore to shore!

The photos present are what we should feel when we enter the doors.

While I would be the first to agree, this isn’t the Atlanta original. In some ways, it’s better. It suits the smaller town atmosphere, but retains its original motif. Upon my entry, without hesitation, the staff was very prompt in their, “What’ll ya have?” Instantly bringing forth a smile. They were very courteous & friendly. The food was delivered extremely fast & the quality was just as expected. Today, I had the number 7 combo (2 slaw dogs & fries). I know that the history of The Varsity is Coca-Cola, but today, I chose unsweetened iced tea. I also got a fried peach pie. Everything was good. My experience here has me thinking that a return visit will be necessary when visiting Rome, Ga.

Guys, this ain’t Atlanta. The food and area here is much better and cleaner than Atlanta. Staff was sweet. Service was quick. Good was better price and quality than mcds. That’s the best fast food I’ve put in my mouth 10/10

I have been eating Varsity chili burgers, fries, onion rings and apple pies for 63 years. Half the time at the Atlanta store and half at the Kennesaw store. None can beat the original back in the 60s and 70s. At this one the fries were not fresh and could be improved but I did go at 4:30. Burger was not greasy enough but not bad. Would like to try them when it’s crowded and everything is made after I order it. I want to try the onion rings too. That’s the real test. It was new and clean A+ on that. Give it a try if you like Varsity. I’m told it’s an acquired taste but I wouldn’t know, I been eating at the Varsity all my life.

After saying I couldn’t eat there because of all the fried foods, we stopped as we passed. We both had burgers, and were very happy with them! Pleasant staff, clean facility. Getting out of the lot is a bit crazy though!

We came on opening day and got in and out. In less than half an hour! Great job!
The bacon double cheeseburger is fantastic!! The cheese is salty and creamy and delicious, as well as the bacon is salty too yum!!!
Onion rings are wonderfully seasoned Without being too soggy.
Milkshakes are a good consistency to be able to drink through a straw! The orange tastes great like a creamsicle!
The peach pie is delicious real chunks of peaches, although for a fried pie could be a bit crunchier for my taste.
Overall, great experience and Great food.

We were so excited to have The Varsity in Rome! However, we were sadly disappointed in the quality of the food. Burgers were dry, not seasoned and the smooshed. The bun was flatter than a pancake. I ordered Glorified Bacon Cheeseburgers. It had two very small pieces of shreds of lettuce that were almost invisible in the mayo. Fries were greasy and soggy. No seasoning. Onion rings were a great size, but also greasy and soggy. The cheese dog had very little cheese on it. The Orange Frost and Chocolate shakes were great. The customer service was awesome. Basil was patient and friendly. Hope the quality of the food improves as they smooth out their processes. Wasn’t worth the money spent at this point.

Very clean restaurant!
I think they have the best fries.
All-beef hot dog was good, too.

Many of us have a memory from the Varsity in Atlanta where Flo sang the menu. So a new varsity was exciting. A cheese burger, chilli dog, and fries made the call. Typical varsity. Fries were abundant and my favorite of fast food.
The value just wasn’t there. $14 for a meal Wendy’s could match for half the amount.
