Atmosphere was great. Service was good but we served ourselves at a buffet. No menu items. Food was okay. Definitely not $70 + per person for omelette and some French toast and meats. My sons ate mashed potatoes and gravy with some Mac and cheese…made them try some meat at carving station. But for 3 people ended up being $275 and there were no prices anywhere. Then online it shows you can pick up same breakfast to go for $4 a biscuit and average prices for other items. Disappointed for Mother’s Day paying that price. Buffet it was Nothing spectacular and dessert table was cookies and some brownies laying out.

What a wonderful casual meal! The restaurant is spacious and the tables large enough for two people and the extra plates for bread and wine glasses. The food was prepared extremely well, elegant and flavorful. The short rib roast was not over cooked (hard to do at most restaurants) and the carrot side was not canned, overcooked mush but instead fresh and cooked enough that they were firm but not raw. The Ahi Tuna was a large enough portion and perfectly cooked. The crust was delightful with pistachio and other spices. Fresh onion pasta was a surprise that made it more delicious plated with a yummy green tomato chow-chow.

Please ignore the negative reviews! It seems as though people do not give new businesses a chance when sharing their experiences. Olivia was our server, she was the best! Super friendly and personal. The food is next level. We eat at the local restaurants regularly and The Varsity Club has raised the bar here in the Greenbrier Valley. Forget the restaurants at the hotel, eat here instead! We will definitely be revisiting and hope everyone checks this place out. Highly recommend!!!

Fantastic spot! Upscale but cozy at the same time. Very spacious with different level of seatings at the bar. Great authentic bar menu with interesting drink concoctions! Worth checking out!

Just had a wonderful dining experience here. The food was excellent, the wait staff unequaled. I would and will recommend this establishment over any restaurant that I’ve dined at in the Greenbrier this weekend. I look forward to my next visit here.

The varsity club pays thei wait staff $8/hr plus tips which is way over half the area, yet they still act as if their job is too much of a bother. And the menu pricing is way over the area medium. Travel 9 miles to Lewisburg for decent dining and REASONABLE PRICE!

Went based on a recommendation. Unfortunately I can not recommend. It took 1 1/2 hours to get our entrees. The appetizer, soup, and salad was good but small. We had hope because the flavors seemed to be from a trained chef even though it took 30 mins just to get that. The entrees finally came and it seemed like a completely different chef. Prime ribeye had no flavor. I’ve had better ad chain restaurants. Wife had duck with Brussels sprouts. The duck was over cooked (sauce was good) and the Brussels sprouts were so undercooked that they were inedible (again with no seasoning). Drinks were not refilled until close to the end of the meal and they were not busy. I would save your money and go somewhere else.

Olivia was very helpful with the menu. She let us know what items were out of stock and what the specials were. The service was excellent and the food was even better. The chicken cordon Bleu was so interesting and different. The cheese and ham were between the skin of a chicken leg. So juicy and flavorful. The strawberry shortcake was the perfect size to share with my husband and round out our meal.

The she crab soup was amazing! But unfortunalty, the rest of the dinning experience was not so. We were rushed to our main course before we had even finished the appetizer. Our main course was the shrimp and grits, which did not have a lot of flavor; and the grits weren’t smooth but overly gritty. We had to pay 27 dollars for that, we ought to get our monies worth. The servers and head chef were unapologetic. On top of that the head chef was constantly walking in and out of the kitchen to have chit-chat with the other employees. He should be paying more attention to the food then fraternizing with the staff and patrons.
