We went to The Urban Stillhouse in Somerset, KY for Thanksgiving dinner. When we made our reservation, we were told the price was $75 per person, which included a salad, a Thanksgiving dinner with both turkey and ham, seven additional side items, dessert, and two spiced apple ciders that could be served spiked. We were also required to provide a credit card to prepay for the meal, which I reluctantly did for the two of us.
The meal itself was okay, but definitely not worth $75 per person. The salad was a great start, but the turkey was cold and the ham was dry. Most of the sides were just average, although the greens were good. Dessert was delicious.
The real issue came with the confusing bill. We were not the only table with questions—guests around us were also asking about discrepancies. Our subtotal was $188. We did order one extra drink for $14, so I was expecting the bill to be around $164, not $188.
When I asked about the difference, I was told there was a $12 charge per pour of bourbon added to our spiced apple ciders. This was never explained to us beforehand. On the phone and again by our server, we were simply told the ciders could be spiked—no mention of an upcharge. Fine, I accepted that part.
However, looking more closely at the bill, I noticed they also added a $30 gratuity plus tax, bringing the total to $233.06. After subtracting the upfront payment of $180 (I had thought it was $150—my mistake for not confirming), I still owed $53.06.
Then they brought me the credit card receipt to sign, and that showed a total of $203.06, with no mention of the $30 gratuity already included—yet I was still charged the additional $53.06. The receipt also had the standard line asking for a tip. I entered zero, but the entire process felt deceptive and manipulative.
After leaving, I checked online and found a Yelp review from someone who had a very similar experience. I strongly recommend asking in advance and getting in writing exactly what is included and what you’ll be charged before you’re seated or served. This would have saved a lot of confusion and frustration.

Had a great meal and excellent service. The atmosphere here is very warm and inviting from the moment you step in. Our server, Nick, was on point. Very knowledgeable with the menu. There are lots of finer points I could list, but I’ll settle with he knows his craft well.
The food was absolutely delicious and portions were generous. These people really care about all the details. From beginning to end (the host holding the door with a “thank you” and “goodnight”) this was truly a perfect evening. I cant wait to see the spring menu.
A special thank you to Jake. Your table visit was an unexpected and pleasant touch. Thanks to the whole team for your dedication to fine dining!

Absolutely loved it. We went for a birthday lunch it was so good. One of us got the chicken sandwich (that was added to the menu last week ) and the rest of us got the bourbon burger. Our waitress Sara was great, super friendly, kept our glasses full. She let us know at the end this was her first day. She did awesome! We will be back to try other things. Highly recommend!

I sat at the bar on a Friday night and enjoyed the fellowship of regular locals and friendly visitors. The perfectly portioned Lemon-Ricotta Ravioli was absolutely delicious with the lemon taste lingering in my mouth with every bite. Enjoyed watching Abby the bartender shake beautiful and tasty cocktails. Bees Knees for the win! She provided excellent service and thoughtfully engaged in conversation. I will be back soon!
