With this being a Belgian restaurant, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Not used to that type of cuisine. I had the Unicorn United Belgian style Lager. So refreshing. I had the Jagerin Vol-Au Vent — Mushrooms, shallots, asparagus, & garlic roasted root vegetable mix i. vegan bechamel sauce along with puff pastry & scallions. Sooo yummy! And also bowl of fries with garlic aioli sauce

Went for happy hour. The Odd Side Belgian IPA wasn’t very good; I’d recommend a different local pour. Not Unicorn’s fault.

The $5 plates we had – frites (french, or should I say Belgian, fries), grilled ham & cheese, and loaded stoemp (a fried mashed potato ball type thing? Idk but it was good, but heavy) – were all tasty, especially for the price.

They have some card games, but honestly they all looked kinda wack. So we went old school and played Battleship. If you like playing games at a brewery/diner you might wanna bring your own, or to the management: get some better games.

We ended up with a $20 bill for a beer and 3 plates of food. Service was good, and the tavern has an interesting design to it. Definitely a unique place. Would love to return and try the Belgian brunch menus or other more authentic stuff. Oh well, next time.

We got a little confused with the brunch and regular menu switching over at 2:00.
But our waitress was very nice and explained the situation. Not many places deserve a 4.8 rating but I think it is well deserved. The atmosphere is cool. The food was awesome and all the staff were polite and accommodating.

Absolutely amazing experience and I will be back again! They took extra Care to seat and serve my family. I brought my wife, teen daughter, and toddler. We all left full and pricing was very reasonable. Great atmosphere, even the owner Gary came over to make sure we were having a good time. Our server and busboys were both extremely attentive and kind.

If I had to be extra picky I would say that the burger was a little small, coleslaw was bland, the appetizer (similar to hushpuppies) tasted a little bland too, and there was a fly that would not leave our table alone and when we complain to the server she seemed to just kind of brush it off and not try to help but what can you really do about a fly right? And my family loved their food. Nothing to complain about genuinely, just a few mild irritations. It also got kind of loud at times but it’s a tavern, that’s going to happen and for most of the visit it was moderate to even mild. Much quieter than the Paisley Pig, I can say that for certainty.

Our server confirmed any dietary restrictions and allegies twice (great job!!) and I really thought that the flags were nice and the drinks paired with the different entrees were creative. I don’t drink alcohol myself so it would be cool to see something paired for a 420 audience or something but other than that I had an amazingly spectacular time and I also really enjoyed the booth. Very spacious and the walls were decorated with lots of cool stuff for my children to check out. Fireplace was also beautiful.

Thanks for the wonderful inclusive eatery Gary and crew!

Fantastic Sunday brunch with friends and family. We were a jovial group of 12 arriving at 10am… The Unicorn team accommodated us nicely and swiftly. Amazing servers, the food and drinks-including Irish specials were delicious, fresh and beautifully plated. They were super flexible with the billing. Thank you!!! Highly recommended!! We will definitely be back!!

The menu seems big, but oh my it’s all tasty! The speciality cocktails are super good too! Had the Boney Bread as an app which was the best bread ever! The the Flemish Mac & Cheese with Fried Chicken on top; also so amazing and tasty . The staff was awesome at giving suggestions when we didn’t know what to pick too. They made the experience that much better. The atmosphere is also very inviting and feels like home. Will definitely be back and definitely a great spot if you’re in Grand Haven!

The best bar ever! First visit for us, managed to land there during happy hour. Sat across from the bar, to be able to see all the awesome weird and wonderful decor. We didn’t even know what to look at first because the menu and fun choices are so extensive and interesting. We got Stoemp croquettes and a delightful ham and cheese sandwich, both arrived SO fast. Our server was just the sweetest, smiliest, efficient ever. If we lived here we’d be weekly repeats and I would put in an application for sure. 12/10! We’ll be back!!!

My cousin and I split the Brussels burger with both of the add ons, the Scourmont Schnitzel, asparagus, and the mushroom poutine. Everything was excellent. The fries could have been more done. Cool atmosphere.
