This place is such a gem in downtown Franklin! The aesthetics are beautiful, and it’s a wonderful spot to meet up with friends or spend time with family. They rotate their menu regularly, which keeps things fresh and exciting. The portions are quite generous as well!

My husband and I both ordered The Javanese. The noodles were delicate and flavorful, with a very mild spice level (around 0.5–1), and the egg added a nice texture. The sujuk (turkey sausage) was a bit overcooked for my personal taste, but that’s just preference, not a knock on the chef. I also really enjoyed the Dragon Pearl tea.

The service was kind and relaxed, very European-style, where you’re not rushed out of the restaurant, which I really appreciate. Overall, it’s definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area!

There were only 7 food items on the dinner menu, so not a lot to choose from. The chicken wings were tangy and delicious. The roast chicken was alright, but I wasn’t a fan of the grain that it was served with. I really liked the peanut sauce and the salad though. Everything was also a bit expensive, with entrees between $20-35.

LOVE that they’ve added so many new vegan options!! We got the dolma platter and lentil soup, both were so delicious. It’s so nice to be able to enjoy delicious food here without contributing to animal cruelty!

Great lunch stop. We enjoyed sharing the Kung Pow dumplings. Each of us tried a different dish. Everyone complimented their food.I had the Korean fried chicken. Crunchy, spicy and delicious.

Had this place saved for a while and managed to stop by on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We had the za’tar spiced duck wings, Korean fried chicken sandwich, and the Javanese noodles. Everything was spot on and well-balanced and though their drink menu was limited – the British colas were perfect refreshers. Attentive and knowledgeable service staff. All their items are halal except the steak and Turkish burger.

I have dined at many Michelin restaurants around the globe – but none match the flavours and the ambiance of The Tulip and the Rose Cafe. This restaurant is one of my most memorable ones. This review is long overdue…

From the moment you enter, you will feel some tranquility, a soothing and reassuring feeling. You will feel peace. The decor, the smells, the colours, the ambiance, the welcoming staff – everything about this place is truly charismatic in its own way. You will feel at home.

As for the food… I am not sure where to start from. The dishes are so fragrant. They use ingredients that are unexpected but blend so smoothly together. The presentation is superb. The creativity of the dishes and the flavours are mind-blowing.

This restaurant deserves a Michelin star.
Step out of your comfort zone, try something new, and let the staff take care of you like you are family.

I arrived just at closing time. Without hesitation, the young man motioned for me to come in. After having traveled all day on a motorcycle, I was starving. The hamburger that Salim suggested was fantastic! The atmosphere was equal to the food. These are good folks. Worth a stop if you’re ever in Franklin.

We traveled to Franklin in 2023 over thanksgiving. We ate here twice and have regarded it as our favorite restaurant we’ve ever been to since. Phenomenal fried chicken, interesting and intentional flavors throughout a clearly curated small menu. Thank you!

Loved the service here. Multiple cuisines. Very friendly staff.
We took an hour long detour just to visit this spot, but we were running late and requested the staff to keep it open after closing hours. They honored our request with a smile.
Would love to visit again. Keep up the good work. We need more places like this.
