Stopped into this laid-back local bar and was pleasantly surprised by how much it delivered. The bartender was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel like a regular even on your first visit.
The smash burger was excellent—crispy edges, juicy center, and perfectly paired with golden, well-seasoned fries. Drinks were just as impressive, especially the ones made with fresh puréed fruit—full of flavor and not overly sweet.
The atmosphere is casual and unpretentious, just what you want from a great neighborhood spot. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to.

This is by far our favourite bar in Hood River! Sarah the mixologist is an absolute hoot and lifts one’s spirits instantly. You can get whatever you want here or just tell her to make you something specially designed for you. And if there’s a sign that says. “Kill the Keg $3” go for it!!

Sarah is the best bartender in the gorge! She’s so full of energy and knows her stuff! I get the wings buffalo style extra crispy with their blue cheese dressing made in house which takes it to another level! Fan for life!

Very terrible experience tonight with my friends for a birthday. Bouncer was seemingly intoxicated and smelt of liquor. Additionally the bouncer was dressed like a pedestrian and smoking cigarettes to the right of the door. My friend did not see them, and tried to enter. The bouncer proceeded to grab my friend by the arm and pull them towards him and say “oh do you think you’re special?”. Service was absolutely terrible, and the owners should revise who they are having man their establishment. I hope that people are able to go to this bar in the future and feel like they are in a safe environment, because that is not what my friends and I experienced tonight.

I’m from out of state but coming here we were drawn to the laid back look and decided to go into!
The waitress was super friendly and warming and invited us on in like we were a regular. Very kind and always attentive to our needs.
The food was also great too and the price was super fair.

The Trill’ has been my favorite dive in the Gorge ever since 2006, and though the owners have come and gone, the place has maintained its old-school downtown vibe throughout. The new Tavern interior somehow feels more spacious than the Cafe was, and the changes are welcome. Food is great, as always, although I admit I will always miss the Barbie Doll Shrimp from the Michelle & Dave days long ago! Best of luck to the new owners and thanks for keeping the story going.
