We had a wonderful dining experience at the Train Station! The shrimp and ribeye were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing—clearly prepared with care. The chicken tenders and fries were incredibly flavorful and downright fantastic, and the salads were fresh, crisp, and delicious.

One standout detail was the jalapeños—spectacular and full of flavor. The restaurant itself was very clean and neatly decorated, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. A small but thoughtful touch we loved was the miniature barrel of toothpicks on the table—such a nice detail that shows how much they care about the guest experience.

Great food, great presentation, and thoughtful service. We’ll definitely be back!

This is a great small restaurant that is perfect for a date night. The food and service was top notch. The restaurant is rather small but that helps create a great warm and inviting atmosphere. You won’t be disappointed by the portion size; plenty to eat and possibly leftovers to take home.

This is a small restaurant, nested in a small downtown area. It’s very clean and friendly. They have a small menu but focus on doing what they do offer very well. The salads are fresh. Many of the dressings and sauces are homemade. Worth a try.

Open 4-9 Tuesday through Saturday!

Tucked away at 310 Houston Street, The Train Station is quickly becoming the spot to beat in Russell—and trust me, it’s worth hopping off the tracks for.

I went for the ribeye, medium rare, with a loaded baked potato—and wow. Perfectly cooked, melt-in-your-mouth, fat rendered just right. The flavor held its own so well I wouldn’t dare touch a bottle of steak sauce. This is steak done right.

The vibe? Spotless, bright, and welcoming, with subtle nods to Russell’s railroad roots. Clean and modern without being cold—just the right touch of hometown pride.

Even better, it’s veteran-owned and operated, and the crew couldn’t have been kinder. Friendly, genuine, and clearly passionate about what they’re doing.

Honestly, this is exactly the kind of place Russell has been needing. Forget the chains—The Train Station delivers the real deal.

The food s all amazing! I have tried almost everything on the menu and have no complaints. I love the rib-eye’s, the rosemary chicken, and fried pickles. The salad is always fresh and the dressing taste great. The owner Bobby is almost always there along with his wife and staff. All of them are very attentive to your needs/wants. The restaurant focuses on a small menu which I feel makes it better to perfect on trays. The restaurant is very clean and the decor is specific to the community with trains being the theme.

Lots of waitstaff to check on you (even though we went when they were slammed!). Steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Everything from appetizers to the house made ranch side salad to the steak and smoked porkchops was perfect.

The only reason I am giving this place a one star is because hubby said the frog legs were OK and the tiny salad was good at best. If it were just up to my dinner I’d give it a zero. First off, they bring out a small loaf of honey wheat bread that they put a smear of melted butter over the top. No knife to cut the bread with except your butter knife, and no butter to put on the bread. Then, when the dinner comes out, there is no steak knife served with the steak. LOL
I ordered NY Strip Steak and Baked Potato for $23. Maybe if I had teeth like a shark I could have eaten the steak. It was so tough-I had to cut it into tiny pieces and chew it the best I could. (Sawing at it with my butter knife.) I still ended up swallowing most of it practically whole.
Normally, we will not complain when we go out to dinner. I will just let others know our experience and we never return to that restaurant if its too bad. And this was bad.
The table next to us was already eating their salad when we arrived. We had gotten our dinner and they still had not gotten theirs. They waited 15 minutes for their food to come out and when it did the lady’s plate had a hair across it. She showed it to her server and the server replied, “Well, my hair’s pulled up!” Like that made any difference, because there was still a hair lying across her plate? SMH
We drove from Olive Hill to have a nice dinner because the reviews were top rated. Boy what a disappointment. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this restaurant! I’d say save your money and go to McDonald’s.

Great little place. Excellent side salad with carrots, cucumbers, and tomatoes with home-made blue cheese dressing. Delicious honey wheat bread. Filet was cooked as ordered and very tender. Tasty vegetable medley. And the coconut cream pie was so good.! Service was excellent. Outstanding value. The pie was 5 dollars for a large slice. Met the owner Bob. Very nice person and a veteran. Recommend this place highly.

Love this place!! The only area place that we recommend to others. We have never been disappointed. The food and service is always great. We did our first takeout order tonight and everything was just as delicious as eating in house. We appreciate you all and the food you provide!!
