Great meal. Payton our server was super! Friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming.
Had the Bayou BBQ burger, my friend the gumbo bowl. Both were served hot and delicious. Also tried their spinach dip with tortilla chips. Chips were warm and crisp. Dip was better then one I had at an upscale place recently.
Totally recommend going here.
Service great, food delicious and affordable. I can see dropping in frequently for a meal or to go.

What a great local restaurant that is family friendly. Today they had a crawfish boil on the patio. The crawfish were incredible, perfectly seasoned and cooked perfect. If you stop in here you have to try the Cajun spinach dip it is so much better then most places. They also have a great selection of draft beers and mixed brinks.

I’ve been to each iteration of this location’s restaurants. I was eager to see the latest reinvention.
I’ll start this by saying that I think the guy who is the manager is actually trying to do a good job. He stayed busy helping staff, talking to guests, and doing his best.
Unfortunately, as a lone person at the bar who was there to work, have some drinks, and eat, I didn’t get the experience I’m sure he was working for.
Although there was barely anyone sitting at the bar (no more than 6 people, including me) while I was there, my service was slow and inattentive. Like I didn’t matter because I was just a one-person check total. When I got there, I had a male bartender. No clue what his name was but apparently it didn’t matter because over an hour later, he left without letting me know and transferred my check to a female who never introduced herself either. My water went empty, I wasn’t offered a new drink… It was clear my business or presence there didn’t matter.
Maybe at “The Trace” in this small town where building a community of regulars SHOULD be a thing… It’s not?
(In another city) When I was a bar manager and bartender, I was trained to engage the guest and act like they mattered and we wanted them back but… Idk. Maybe that’s not their goal here.

I ordered the philly and the bartender suggested I get steak so I did. I also added jalapenos. I’m attaching a photo but this sad, sad sandwich looked so bad it made it taste less than it should have. The flavor of the steak and cheese and jalapenos wasn’t bad but that was literally all there was and as you can see in the picture… There was kind of more to be desired (like the onions and peppers). The fries were soggy but the flavor seemed ok. For $16, I think anyone would agree they should do better.

Overall, I’m bummed AGAIN that one single female alone can’t seem to find good service in this location. Wishing the best for that manager who seems to be trying hard but it feels like this is not actually a new place. This is the exact same sub-standard service I’ve known here.
They’ve got the ingredients plus the best location in town. They just don’t try enough to hold decent service standards.

Stuffed catfish was outstanding, Red Beans & Rice with a piece of Fries Catfish was out of this world. Boudin egg rolls was superb but the service was subpar. Waitress seemed to be new and not sure of a few things. She also didnt make herself avalable to check with us on our meals. Rang up our order incorrectly which caused a upcharge for side dishes which should have been included. We wanted a flight of beers to taste them or even a sample and our server told us they don’t do that and she didn’t know about the beers other than the names. We talked to Ariel which she said she was the manager and to come back tomorrow to make it right but we are only in town for a few days so I do feel that they would make it right the next time. We would return on the quality of food.

We went to a different local restaurant first and they didn’t allow kids, so we ended up at The Trace, and I’m so glad we did!! This place is the best for families with kids of any age. There is an on-site arcade, and a video feed that plays in the bar, so you can keep your eye on your kids!!! Also, the food, atmosphere, and service are fantastic!!

heard about this place from the local tv spot. Food was delicious – I am a tough critic of Red Beans & Rice but this was spot on. They clearly took the time to do it right.

And then the owner stopped by to chat us up – man does that guy have some stories! I just wish I had grown up on the WestBank in the 90’s.

It took over an hour to get out main meal and about 20 minutes to get are appetizers. The restaurant was not busy and the server told us the kitchen was running behind. The server was great but could have checked in on is more. The was only plastic utensils and all the food came in plastic baskets. The food was ok at best. Would not go back again.
