The food was pretty decent but the service was absolutely trash. No refills on our waters, and then we ordered fish n chips and potato skins for an appetizer. Well we didn’t get our app until after we got our meal and then we asked for more sauce and never got them had to eat my fish without tartar sauce was tragic. I had better hopes for this place.

Greeted and seated quickly. Our server Julianne was excellent. Tried the French onion soup and grilled cheese both very good. Hubby got fish and chips and said it was excellent. Also got onion rings and they were great.

After a full day of helping organize our son’s apartment for his senior year at App State, we headed to Blowing Rock for dinner. While I didn’t catch her name, the singer had a great voice & her little band was playing outside. It’s a nice atmosphere with not only couples, but some parents & children in the mix.

I was in the mood for comfort food and the Philly Cheesesteak recommended by Julianna (our server) was awesome!
She was also very attentive despite having so many other tables to serve.

My husband really enjoyed the fish & chips, the cole slaw, the potato salad. I thought the sweet potato fries were also perfect!

Check out The Town Tavern & be sure to add your name to the waitlist because you’ll need to, it’s a popular place!

Enjoy!

Stopped in for lunch, had a rueben with fries. service was prompt and friendly, food came out really quick and hot. The sandwich was tastey as were the fries. The atmosphere was laid back but lively, good tunes playing. Can’t ask for much more out of a restaurant.

We went here a few times right around New Year’s when every place in Blowing Rock was packed and had a long wait. The staff was all really great and quickly got us beers as we waited for a table. The reservation system is very nice to know how long you have waited and how many people are ahead of you. When we were seated we were quickly greeted and orders taken quickly and with a smile. We tried multiple items from the menu on our visits and really enjoyed everything we got. We were also really happy with the the price of everything, as it was good quality food that wasn’t over priced. We really enjoyed our multiple visits here during our trip to Blowing Rock and would definitely recommend this place, even if they look busy and the wait is long. The staff was all always hustling and working hard to get people fed, even during a very busy they will take care of you and get you in as soon as possible.

Loved my first visit to The Town Tavern! Though it was busy inside on a winter day, we were fortunate to be seated immediately. It’s a cozy, friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Service was very prompt. Lots of menu choices! We ordered the French Onion soup, which was excellent! Plenty of tender onions and large, broth-soaked croutons underneath a perfectly baked and browned Gruyère cheese topping. Every spoonful was a treat. Also really enjoyed the Patty Melt sandwich. The burger patty itself was particularly tasty, and combined with the Swiss cheese, grilled onions and perfectly crusted Texas Toast, all I can say is it didn’t stay on the plate for very long. The fries were hot, also had a great crunch and came in a good size portion. Excellent experience all around. Can’t wait to return!

The food is amazing especially the Philly cheesesteak and the fish and chips. The fries are so good there and are perfectly cooked but they stick together a little bit. Our waitress was very nice.
