I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at the Toasted Yolk location in Sugar Land today 02/15/26 . I placed a to-go order in person for the following items: a Cowboy Scramble with hash browns and turkey sausage, avocado toast with two poached eggs and hash browns, and three orange juices. I ordered at the bar area where to-go orders are taken, following the store’s instructions. The young woman who took my order told me it would be ready in 8–10 minutes and asked me to have a seat while she brought it out to me.

After waiting 20 minutes, I went back to ask about my order. A male employee asked for my name and said he would check on it, but he never returned. I waited an additional 10 minutes with no update, no communication, and no one bringing my food. I then had to go back a second time to ask about my order. The same young woman who took my order gave an unclear response, and another employee went to check. I was then told that my order had been placed at the front door area with the Uber Eats orders. I did not order through Uber Eats, I placed my order directly in person at the Sugar Land location, as I have done many times before without issue.

Because of this mistake and lack of communication, I was forced to wait an additional 20–30 minutes beyond the original 8–10 minute wait time I was quoted. When I finally retrieved my order myself, I informed another male employee about the situation. He said he would speak to them about it but then walked away and never came back. To make matters worse, my orange juice was missing and had to wait another several minutes.

By the time I arrived home (only about five minutes away), the food was very cold. Even more concerning, when I bit into the poached eggs, I nearly choked on several large pieces of eggshell that were tucked underneath the egg. This is a serious food safety issue and completely unacceptable.

What upset me most was the complete lack of sympathy, apology, or accountability from the staff. No one acknowledged the mistake, no one apologized for the excessive wait, missing items, or poor food quality, and no effort was made to make things right. I have been a customer at this location before without problems, but this experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. This level of service and care is not what I expect from your restaurant, and I hope this situation is taken seriously

I recently visited this restaurant for breakfast and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, with a cozy yet vibrant vibe that made it a perfect place to start the day. The service was attentive without being intrusive—our server Julio was friendly, quick with refills, and made sure everything arrived just as ordered.

The food itself was excellent. The eggs were cooked perfectly, fluffy and flavorful, and the pancakes had that ideal balance of lightness and richness. The coffee was fresh and strong, which is always a big plus for me in the morning. I also appreciated the small details—the fresh fruit garnish and warm bread made the meal feel special.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a satisfying breakfast. It combines quality food, friendly service, and a relaxed setting—everything you’d want to start your day on the right note.

Ordered the Reuben, Brisket Tacos, and a Burrito. The pictures looked great, but what showed up at the table was screaming for HELP. Honestly, not sure who thought it was okay to let food leave the kitchen looking like that. If you’re charging $15 for a Reuben or two tacos, they need to be really good — both in taste and presentation. Unfortunately, this missed the mark on both.

I recently dined at The Toasted Yolk Cafe in Sugar Land, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! From the moment I entered, I was greeted with a warm smile and prompt service. The staff was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal.

The food was absolutely delicious! I tried their signature breakfast dishes, and each bite was bursting with flavor. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. The menu offered a great variety, so there’s something for everyone.

What truly stood out was the manager Clarissa, who went above and beyond to ensure our visit was perfect. She was not only helpful but also friendly—she took the time to check on us and made sure we were enjoying our meal. Such a personal touch made a significant difference!

Overall, I highly recommend The Toasted Yolk Cafe. Excellent service, delicious food, and a fantastic manager make this place a must-visit. I can’t wait to return!

A solid, but not overly special option for breakfast/lunch in town. The service has always been pretty good with a friendly staff, though the wait times on food can vary.

The Brisket Scramble was our favorite from the different breakfast dishes we ordered (very cheesy with good flavor). The Southern Fried Arnold was decent, but was definitely a little dry. Adding a little hot sauce or maple syrup made a big difference. From the lunch menu, the Homemade Chicken Salad Sandwich was the winner of the bunch (very fresh and flavorful), with the Patty Melt being a distant second. Between the sandwich itself (bread, lack of enough sauce, etc.) and the disappointing Junkyard Fries, I’d definitely avoid that side of the menu going forward.

Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Cleanliness: 2/5 (table was dirty and still had puddles of water when we were seated)

The food is decent but the staff is overworked. I think this can be a great brunch spot if there was better support from the management.

The staff is friendly and helpful but they’re overwhelmed with the disorganization. It took over an hour for our order and nothing complicated was ordered.

There was a mistake with one order and the server helpfully replaced it without any issues. The server also gave us complimentary donuts (they were delicious!) because of the long wait time. The visit was for Sunday brunch so the busy nature is understandable but some do the delay was because of the disorganization.

Toasted Yolk is located across from Perry’s Steakhouse in the Sugar Land Town Square. Free parking is available in the garages surrounding. You’re able to put yourself on the wait-list ahead of time through Yelp or Google (via Yelp). The wait was short since we put ourselves on the list. We had the Southern Fried Arnold with Cheese Grits and the Shrimp & Grits. The Southern Fried Arnold was absolutely amazing; the gravy on top of the egg and chicken was just perfect. All the flavors complemented each other. The cheese grits were, by far, some of the best I’ve had at a restaurant and the fruit bowl consisted of grapes and cantaloupe. Very good. The shrimp was very flavorful and had a kick of spice to it with the grits. Also very good. We didn’t try any of their adult beverages this time, however, all their mimosas looked amazing as they were bring brought out to the other tables. The service was okay. The waiter was friendly but lacked urgency. At one point we asked for water and it wasn’t until the 3rd time that he walked by that we asked for an extra coke, that he remembered the water previously ordered. The atmosphere was great for the most part but far too many kids screaming or crying from multiple directions. It didn’t strike me as that type of restaurant. Overall, I’d visit again for the food because it truly was delicious. I’d love to try a mimosa as well sometime.
