We had an amazing experience here. I had a few banana bread old fashioneds. My wife tried various martinis and enjoyed them all. The fried pickles that are mentioned in reviews are worth it. We both had one of the specials for our main course and they were to die for. The blackened tua was one of the better meals I’ve ever had.

RECOMMENDED!
It’s my boyfriend and I’s second day in North Dakota (we’re from Michigan) and we’ve never visited ND before and I’m very glad the very first restaurant we tried here was The Toasted Frog!
Was $130+ for two person! Portion and food IS GREAT!
The only slight negative I would give is the space — this place needs more space, it’s like everyone has to squeeze in and out.

Love the food. The pickle and cheese was our favorite. A must get. From the salad to to the main course was a greatness of wonderful new taste and comfort. I think all the foods would be great. I wanted to try them all. I have the tuna sandwich. Great flavors with a touch of space. My wife had the wallie with rice. Too Lemonanie but good.

Great food. Nice cut pepperoni for the pizza. A little on the saltier side that overpowered the sauce. Delicious pizza sauce nonetheless with fresh Parmesan on the side. Thin crust, wood fired. Thai chicken special was excellently prepared with the garlic mash. Tender, juicy. Well-paired with the mango salsa. Downside of the veg made for a watery plate.

Nice atmosphere. Wide variety of seating options. Depending where you sit, can be noisy. Optional seating on the sidewalk/patio outdoors in a nice day. Server seemed a little rushed/fatigued. Would still recommend and return for the food.

The atmosphere is really nice, old bar dark wood, art on walls. Very suitable for romantic dinner, business dinner, group of friends. Had an extensive drink menu including 3 pages of martinis. Sat at bar and had exceptional service. It wasn’t busy, just a few tables at 830pm on a Monday. Their version of the fried pickles are great. The pizza was very thin with a cracker crust and had floppiness to it. Flavor was good. Will try something else next time.

I really wanted to like Toast Frog, but the food, in my experience isn’t worth what you are paying. The cocktails at Toasted Frog are truly exceptional. I can’t deny that the bar has everything on lock. The atmosphere there is also amazing.

The staff are professional and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Service is prompt and efficient, but the shortfall is the food. I’ve had several dishes from the restaurant that were nothing short of disappointment. The margarita pizza was almost inedible due to how overcooked the balsamic reduction was. It was bitter and acrid. Then I went out with friends and order the calamari, it was unfortunately overcooked and rubbery. The steak also wasn’t that great. From what I was paying, it was underwhelming. The seasoning was lack luster and the sides were meh. I really want to like the Toasted Frog, but everytime I visit there, I end up spending $50-$70 on a mediocre dinner.

This was the highlight of dining for me in Grand Forks. It was recommended by a friend out in Idaho, so I did have to travel a ways to get there. Food was flavourful, and the service was excellent. I had the seafood Lavosh with beef and gorganzola on the other half. I got it because I hadn’t heard of it before. I pictured a flat bread sandwich, but it is much closer to an extremely thin crust pizza. Crust was crisp and heated up well later when I had leftovers. It’s worth the trip to find it.

So good!! The cheesy pickle appetizer is a MUST, it’s so delicious. The truffle fries are also bomb! We split the frog BLT and were not disappointed. The staff was very attentive and they also had a great beer selection. Would definitely go back to try more of the menu!
