This was my first time being here. Limited parking, some street parking, mostly residential. The inside is bigger than it seems from the outside. I went around 7pm on a Friday, it wasn’t too busy until a couple hours in. They have skeeball, pool, and darts from what I saw. As far as the food, they are known for their pizza which was pretty decent, other than the cheese falling off too easily, nice crust, good flavor, but a bit greasy. The french dip was immaculate, crispy bread on the outside, soft on the inside, not dry or stale at all, loads of meat and cheese, tasted really good. Comes with a pickle spear and a bag of chips. Top 5 on my french dip list. The only downside to this place is that the music was blasting way too loud to the point that I have to increase my volume substantially, almost full on yelling so the other person could hear me, but the food was worth it.

Had a great night at this awesome dive. Pizza menu is legit and the atmosphere is great. We came on a Monday which is Bingo night. Good tequila selection, plenty good food options, & phenomenal bartenders. I’ll be frequenting this place for sure.

My favorite dive bar; the food is one of the best things going for it – which you would never expect from a dive bar. The specials are always really impressive. Most of the time I eat a keto diet so I can get a custom salad here that’s huge for a great price. If the owner is here, I will ask them to make me a custom cocktail and it never disappoints!

Everyone treats you with respect, like you are apart of the family. Plenty of space for everyone. Heated patio in the back, several pool tables available. Bingo Mondays, food is served till 1am, food is amazing. If u live in tacoma and havent been here yet, you are missing out on the tipsy

Was here the day before and decided to return last night but had a very different experience. The wings were incredibly salty, i could not eat them. Charged for shots we didn’t get or order. Bartender overwhelmed and may have thought we were drunk but girl far from it.Yelled you don’t have to tip me when we questioned the extra amount. Still tipped you because we had a good time. I felt embarrassed and not listened to but scolded like a child. I remember the Bartender telling us it was her last night there at the Tipsy Tomato. Ms Bartender remember your attitude determines your direction so always provide the best customer service possible. Please know that no one is perfect and you too make mistakes. I wish you well on your new journey.
****editing my review from 1 star to 5, my friend that was with me spoke with owner, she apologized for the Bartender’s behavior and told us to return for a free round of drinks and a much better experience. We went back and she definitely kept her word. We had a wonderful night with great food and drinks and the best customer service. Glad i gave this hidden gem another try!

This is a quintessential dive bar in the best possible way. IYKYK. Get a drink garnished with the house-made cherries. Eat a calzone or if they have the grilled pot roast sandwich – order two. People-watch authentic Tacomans. Treat yourself with a pudding shot for dessert. I love it here.

I come here whenever I can. I love it when Kerry is here. I will tell her to make me a custom pizza & salad (I just tell her what I don’t like) and it all comes out great. Same with the cocktails. It’s a dive bar, but when Kerry is at the helm, you can get craft cocktails. The photo I took was of a rhubarb gin sour she made me.
