Since 1986, The Tiger’s Tale has been a mainstay in the Montgomery community for families to meet and enjoy good food, cold beer and share warm memories. The first tavern at this Rt. 206 location was called Black Bart’s, when Montgomery was a sparsely populated township with plenty of farming, hunting and winding country roads. Around 1980, the Monier brothers purchased Black Bart’s and called it The Foolish Fox. Joe & Dave Monier built the 40 seat rectangular bar and added the grill behind the bar – the first in the area! Adrian Stevens and Cory Wingerter knew Dave & Joe Monier, all were from Monmouth County, NJ. When the Monier brothers wanted to sell, Adrian & Cory purchased the Foolish Fox , changed the name to The Tiger’s Tale

While working nearby on a project, I ended up dining here several times in one week, which says a lot about the quality. The menu offers plenty of options, so there is something for everyone. The servers truly stand out with their friendly and attentive service. You really cannot go wrong with any of the burgers, each one is packed with flavor and cooked just right.

The best Prime Rib Special Tonight. The Wife loved her Chipotle Turkey Burger. Great Sam Adams Cherry Wheat on tap, rare to find it on tap. Love it. Service was friendly, fast and professional. Highly recommend the Tiger’s Tail.

Overall, it was a step above pub grub for us. They have 24 beers on tap! Service was great. We are outside, they have a small, but quite outdoor area with umbrellas for shade. Reasonably priced.

The Tiger’s Tale is everything I want in a neighborhood bar.
The bar itself is huge, the menu is extensive, the food is VERY good, prices are more than fair in today’s economy, and the staff are friendly, professional, and attentive, and the beer selection is great.
The inside has a warm atmosphere that feels immediately welcoming as soon as you walk in.
They have PHENOMENAL daily specials, and now, during the summer, they have an awesome lobster happy hour deal that can’t be beat ($19.99 whole lobster .
Wednesday is Prime Rib night – a 16 oz. Prime Rib for $27.99 (as of 7/18/25).
I went my first time recently and immediately knew I’d be back even though I don’t live in the area.
If you like steaks, seafood, burgers, and traditional bar food with your ice cold beer – you really can’t do much better than the Tiger’s Tale.

I’ve been dining here since the 90s always looked forward to the chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich. last night first bite the chicken did not appear cooked. I had to remove the food from my mouth into a napkin. I cut open the thickest part of the chicken and noticed it was raw. I notified the waitress who took the plate away. She came back and asked if I wanted anything else I said no thank you. she informed me that management Will take half the price off the meal I said, excuse me Why just half I return the entire meal. The manager returned to the table to argue with me that I ate half the meal And the chicken wasn’t raw. I was appalled by the terrible customer service and her management style. After she saw, I had a picture of the raw meat the entire meal did come off. I’m sorry, but Between your dusty 90s decor and your terrible attitude, I will not be returning.

Love this place. A strong local feel. Friendly staff!!!! Dining room decorated very cute for Valentines Day. We ordered Ribeyes. They were tasty but fatty and a fair amount of grizzle. Unfortunate. My husband loved his oysters. The cocktails were just right. 1st time I wasn’t crazy about my entre. If you’re in the area, stop in.

one of my favorite restaurants in the area! staff treats you like family, and my family have been regulars as long as we can remember! the atmosphere is such a piece of art in itself, classic americana vibes and i’m in love with it! one gripe is the food can be a bit inconsistent with how well it is cooked but the customer service definitely makes up for it!
