First off, I thought the atmosphere was decent, although the setup was odd.
Food was just ok. The mushroom crepe was blah and the cheese bread was good. The chicken breast was very tasty with the tarragon mushroom sauce. It was a good size portion too, and it came with a “side” of roasted vegetables (peppers) and potatoes. The veal was just ok. For desserts, the chocolate and wine sponge cake was dense and dry and the cheesecake was so sour it was not edible. The service was also ok, not the best. Probably won’t eat here again.
Service was friendly and perfectly fine — nothing over the top, but welcoming and attentive enough. The food was pretty good overall, though it didn’t quite blow me away.
The only real disappointment was dessert. Even though we had preordered it, they ran out and substituted gelato instead. The gelato was good, but it was still a bit of a bummer, especially on a holiday with a set menu.
Overall, we had a nice experience and I’d be curious to come back on a regular night to try the standard menu.
What a romantic, special evening we had tonight at The Three Musketeers in Crystal River. This gem of a restaurant is so far above anything else in the area—it feels like you’ve stepped into another world.
Nestled in Crystal River’s historic district, the setting is pure enchantment: 100-year-old oaks draped in Spanish moss, gazebos adorned with twinkling string lights, linen-draped tables, and a courtyard where every plant seems to have been placed with intention by the owners. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic—without question, the most magical dining spot in town.
The menu is truly succulent, a farm-to-table masterpiece that delights from the very first bite. We began with freshly baked bread paired with a specialty Eastern European cheese—simple, yet unforgettable. The fennel salad, with pear and arugula, was refreshing and bright. The parpadelle pasta with shiitake and chanterelle mushrooms was rich and earthy. The grilled octopus was perfectly tender, each bite a revelation. Every dish felt like a work of art, far removed from the standard fried fare so common elsewhere.
The wines, sparkling wines, cocktails, and beers are thoughtfully chosen, elevating the evening into something celebratory. And the service? Absolutely impeccable. Our hostess Analiese was outstanding—warm, gracious, and attentive in every detail. The chef herself came out to greet us, and the entire staff made us feel like royalty.
Part of the magic here lies in the story: the father is the builder, the mother the architect, and the daughter the chef—what a perfect trilogy of talent and heart. Together, they’ve created not just a restaurant, but an experience.
We are so grateful we chose The Three Musketeers for our last night in Crystal River. We walked from our lodge and discovered what may well be the most unique and enchanting dining experience in town. This is not just dinner—it’s a memory to savor.
It was the best dining experience ever. For appetizers, we got the mushroom crêpe and Spanish octopus. Both were heavenly. For mains, we got the Red Snapper and beef skewers. Both are to die for. Tender and delicious. The food came out in a timely fashion and it was beautifully presented. Shout out to the 22 year old chef lady who’s taking fine dining to a whole new level. Can’t wait to be back and try all the other items on the menu. We will be their best customer.
Sorry, no pics to share since I forgot to bring my phone/camera so I couldn’t post anything.
